   Vision

A backbone organization involving in pro-active labour management and development enabling the labour forces to engage in productive, decent, and secured employments, and developing labour force’s potentials that support and enhance the national competitive competencies.

 

   Mission

 

      Promote and develop the quality of life and a decent and secured work for  labour.

      Promote and expand greater employment opportunities

      Coordinate and promote capacity building and potentials development for labour with an aim to increase efficiency and productivity in preparation for free competition in the world at large.

      Enhance the quality of life and social security for labour.

      Develop labour management capability. 

 

     MOL’s  Policy 2004

 

Following the royal command appointing Mrs. Uraiwan Tienthong to be the Minister of MOL on 8 November 2003; and according to the Public/National Administration Act (No. 5) 2002, Article 20 entrusting the Minister with  power and duties to set Ministry’s policy, goal and results in line with the government policy; and Article 21 entrusting the Permanent Secretary with power and duties to translate policy into implementation and to provide operational oversight for all departments under MOL so as to ensure achievement of set goal and targets; the Minister of MOL, therefore, on 23 December 2003 had laid out specific policy and operational guidelines for the MOL’s Management as follows:

 

1. Employment

      Reduce expenses for job seeker seeking overseas employment.

      Promote the value of local employment among Thai labour force.

      Regulate and control alien employment and oversee appropriate legal protection for alien workers.

2.  Skill Development

       Provide skill trainings that are relevant to labour market needs, and develop skilled labour to become prospective SME enterpreneur.

       Coordinate with the local Accelerated Rural Development Office in accessing its machinery and facilities for skill training activities, particularly for drafted military personnel upon release in Ubolrajthani Province. 

3.  Labour Protection and Welfare

        Conduct more frequent labour protection inspections and coordinate problem- solving efforts to promote positive working atmosphere.

        Organize  child care centers in  private establishments and coordinate cooperation from local/community organizations to ensure full and fair coverage.

        Promote the role of bipartisan and tripartite organizations to become strong and united.

4.  Security Building (Social Security)
   Accelerate the registration of employees/insured persons by the private establishments with the Social Security Office.

5.  Management
   Uphold the working principles of true determination, transparency, honesty, and straight-forward
   Empower the Provincial CEO in any affair that can be delegated without hesitation.
