Labour Minister Welcomes Japanese Ambassador to Thailand on Visit to Congratulate and Discuss Official Matters

          On August 14, 2019, at 15.00 hours, Labour Minister M.R. Chatumongol Sonakul welcomed the Japanese Ambassador to Thailand H.E. Mr. Shiro Sadoshima and committee, to congratulate the Labour Minister on appointment to his new position. Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol and the ministry’s executives also joined the occasion.
          The Labour Minister had a discussion with the Japanese Ambassador to Thailand H.E. Mr. Shiro Sadoshima and committee regarding important issues under cooperation with Japan, namely the delivery of Thai technical interns and workers in Japan. The parties also discussed preparation of a Memorandum of Cooperation on a basic framework for cooperation on data for proper implementation of systems related to foreign labour resources residing in Japan as a Specified Skilled Workers, operations of the delivery of Thai workers allowed to work in Japan, including activities of the Department of Employment in the future on the delivery of Thai interns in Japan. Furthermore, the discussions included cooperation for delivery of carers for elderly people in Japan, development, and preparation for job seekers before traveling to work abroad and caring for workers returning from working abroad for a sustainable quality of life. The meeting took place at the Labour Minister’s meeting room, 6th floor, Ministry of Labour.
