Labour Minister Assigns Secretariat to Visit and Encourage Medical Personnel, Providing Facilities and Equipment to Prevent Covid-19 in Chonburi

          On January 15, 2021, at 10.00 hours, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned the Labour Minister’s Secretariat Mr. Suthep Chitayavong to visit Chonburi, visiting the Covid-19 screening checkpoints and providing facilities and equipment to prevent Covid-19 such as PPE kits, hand sanitizers, alcohol, sanitary gloves for staff for use in their duties. The occasion took place at the screening point at 331 Road, Nern Hin Junction, Nonghiang subdistrict, Phanat Nikhom district, Chonburi. Government officials in Phanat Nikhom and relevant operational staff gave a welcoming and reported the situation.

          The Labour Minister’s Secretariat said that the government, under the leadership of Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha, and the Ministry of Labour, under the supervision of Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan, care about the workforce and all groups of people and have continuously ordered and implemented measures. Therefore, the Labour Minister was assigned to proactively work with relevant sectors in the area, prevent and control the spread of the disease to be limited in areas, to avoid widespread infections, which will affect the national economy both directly and indirectly, including the well-being of the people nationwide. Today, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin showed concern for the medical personnel on duty, including the workforce. Therefore, he assigned the Secretariat to visit Chonburi and encourage the staff working at the Covid-19 screening checkpoint who have sacrificed their time to take care of the people’s safety. He also provided facilities and equipment to support Covid-19 prevention activities. The Labour Minister has always provided support since the brining of the Covid-19 outbreak. This visit found that all agencies were integrated and working together well.
          Mr. Suthep also inquired about the problems and obstacles in performing duties and giving advice and urging to carry out rigorous screening. He also emphasized measures to prevent Covid-19 in hand washing, wearing masks or cloth masks, and ensuring social distancing.
