Labour Minister Inspects 1506 Hotline Press 6, Advising Insured Persons on Proactive Covid-19 Screening; Facilities at the Thai-Japan Center in Din Daeng and Pathum Thani Vocational College Will Commence on May 5

          Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin inspected the Center for the Covid-19 Situation Administration and 1506 hotline, press 6, at the Social Security Office, as a way to contact and advise insured persons who cannot a place for testing and hospital for treatment in case of infection, whereby advising insured persons to test for Covid-19.

          On May 2, 2021, at the Social Security Office, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin inspected the Center for the Covid-19 Situation Administration and 1506 hotline, press 6. He said that the government under the leadership of Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha and the Ministry of Labour, under the supervision of General Prawit Wongsuwan, is concerned for insured persons amid the Covid-19 situation and instructed the Ministry of Labour to work with the Ministry of Interior in Bangkok, provincial governors in the dark red area provinces or provinces with the highest control, and the Ministry of Public Health, by the NHSO, to increase channels or options for providing insured persons to be examined quickly, reduce congestion, reduce outbreaks and avoid long waiting lines. Upon being tested, if insured persons are found infected with Covid-19, they would receive immediate treatment free of charge. The proactive Covid-19 tests are for insured persons under Sections 33, 39, and 40, following the “Workforce Fighting Together” project. The facility in Bangkok is at the Youth Center (Thailand – Japan) in Din Daeng, which expanded to other dark red areas, including Pathum Thani, Nonthaburi, Chonburi, and Samut Prakarn. The facility at the Youth Center (Thailand – Japan) in Din Daeng temporarily closed for services from May 1 to 4, 2021, and will open again on May 5 to 11. Similarly, the Covid-19 screening center at the multi-purpose hall at Pathum Thani Vocational College was temporarily closed and will reopen on May 5 to 11. The temporary closure is for staff and medical personnel to take a break, clean the facilities, and complete screening for remaining groups. It will then reassess the situation. The screening center for Covid-19 at the Samut Prakan Skill Development Institute Region 1 commenced service from May 1 to 7, 2021. Overall, more than 45,000 people have been tested whereby 700 infected people have been found, all of which have been sent for treatment, following the procedures prescribed by the Ministry of Public Health, in hospitals under the social security network and Hospitels.

          Mr. Suchart said that today, he visited and inspected the services of the Center for the Covid-19 Situation Administration and 1506 hotline, press 6, at the Social Security Office, which opened as a way to contact and advise insured persons who cannot a place for testing and hospital for treatment in case of infection, whereby advising insured persons to test for Covid-19. For insured persons who are at risk, it provides recommendations for the screening criteria and advice on how to take care of yourself after a Covid-19 test. The center also coordinates with the relevant departments and medical facilities and coordinates the transportation for insured persons who require medical treatment. The center also introduces symptoms from Covid-19. Service is available every day, from Monday to Sunday, from 08.00 hours to 17.00 hours. There are ten lines of staff waiting for to services people. The center also helps those who need an ambulance to go for testing and helps to coordinate to find a bed for infected persons. People can connect to the hotline on 1506, press 6. At the moment, a war room has opened at the Ministry of Labour, whereby the staff is stationed in front of the Labour Minister’s room to help coordinate assistance to insured persons and people suffering from the Covid-19 screening, to ensure they receive timely support.

          Insured persons can be assured that from the said action, the government and the Ministry of Labour have integrated with the relevant departments to help and mitigate the Covid-19 situation to dissolve as soon as possible and provide insured persons with the best possible care.
