Labour Minister Launches “Sanam Rak Sattahip” Kitchen to Support People Affected by Covid-19 in Chonburi

          Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin joined relevant agencies in opening the “Sanam Rak Sattahip” kitchen in Chonburi, showing unity and kindness from all parties, supporting people affected by the Covid-19 epidemic. The initiative aligns with government policy for the Thai people to not abandon each other and not leave anyone behind.

          On May 13, 2021, at 14.00 hours, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin presided over the opening ceremony of the “Sanam Rak Sattahip” kitchen at Wat Rassadorn Samakkhi, Km 10, Phlu Ta Luang, Sattahip, Chonburi. Assistant to the Labour Minister Mr. Surachai Chaitrakulthong, the Labour Minister’s Secretariat Mr. Suthep Chitayawong, Major General Nantachat Supamongkol from the Office of the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, Chairperson of the Commission on Studies on Corruption, Misconduct and Strengthening Good Governance of the Senate Admiral Sittawat Wongsuwan, and Chonburi Deputy Provincial Governor Mr. Thawatchai Srithong, also joined the occasion. The Labour Minister said that the opening of the kitchen today would help people affected by Covid-19. It shows unity and the hospitality of all parties, working together to combat the pandemic, providing confidence that Thai people will not abandon each other or leave anyone behind. The government, under the leadership of Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha, and the Ministry of Labour under the supervision of Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan understands and continues to monitor the pandemic’s impact on the economy and the people. Therefore, all ministries were instructed to work together to resolve problems and prepare for remedies, to minimize the impact on the people.

          Mr. Suchart said that the Ministry of Labour gives great importance to the situation. As the Labour Minister, he has instructed agencies under the Ministry of Labour to conduct proactive Covid-19 screening in facilities outside of hospitals under the “Workforce Fighting Together” project. The initiative is rolled out in the six provinces categorized as dark red zones, including Bangkok, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Samut Prakarn, Chiang Mai, and Chonburi. To prepare support and care for insured persons with Covid-19, Hospitels have been established to ensure that the insured persons receive prompt, safe, and standardized treatment. The situation can be resolved and mitigated through the cooperation of all parties in implementing Covid-19 prevention measures strictly by wearing masks, social distancing, and frequent washing of hands with alcohol gel or soap.

          “I would like to thank all stakeholders involved in organizing the field kitchen activity to help those affected by Covid-19. I would like to assure you that “the government will not leave anyone behind.” We will get through this crisis together,” concluded Mr. Suchart.
