Labour Minister Reveals that the SSO Appeal Committee Considers Care of Benefits and Creates Fairness for Insured Persons

          The Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, welcomed the Social Security Office’s Chairman, Mr. Arthit Ismo, and the committee on the occasion of meeting with the Labour Minister to report on the performance of the Appeal Committee in 2021 – 2022. The occasion took place at the Chatumongkol Meeting Room, 6th floor, Ministry of Labour.
          Mr. Suchart said that the Social Security Office aims to protect insured persons and employees from receiving benefits as required by law so that workers have stable social security. But each year, there are complaints from employers and insured persons. Therefore, the Social Security Office has appointed an Appeal Committee created under the Social Security Act B.E. 2533. This committee is responsible for considering appeals by employers, insured persons, or any other person who is still not satisfied with the orders of the Secretary-General or of the competent officials with the powers and duties of the Appeal Committee. It is an organization that has the power to consider appeals in the form of a committee with qualified representatives of employers and employees that work in a tripartite manner.
          Mr. Suchart continued that the Ministry of Labour thanked the Appeal Committee for working together to help protect the rights of the workforce. He commended this Appeal Committee for conducting appeal decisions under the principle of balancing people’s feelings, creating justice under humanitarian principles, and creating equality for the greatest benefit of society. Their efforts support employers, employees, and fellow workers, consistent with government policy under the leadership of the Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, General Prayuth Chan-ocha, who focuses on developing strong national human resources, and a strong nation, where people have stability in life.
          The Chairman of the Social Security Office’s Appeal Committee, Mr. Arthit Ismo, said that today, the Appeal Committee met with the Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin to list the performance of the Appeal Committee during 2021-2022, as well as to accept the operational policies to be guidelines for the consideration of appeals by employers and insured persons, to maintain fair benefits and build stability under the legal framework.
