Labour Minister’s Advisor Commences Project on Promoting Labour Volunteer Networks to Integrate with MOL’s Missions in Yasothon

          On February 26, 2020, at 11.00 hours, Advisor to the Labour Minister Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jak Punchoopet chaired the opening ceremony of the Labor Volunteer Network Empowerment Project to integrate the Ministry of Labor’s activities. Activity 1 was a workshop to increase knowledge that will be useful to labour volunteers, and Integration with the project to drive the policy mechanism to prevent and resolve human trafficking in labour towards implementation, in Yasothon for 2020. Yasothon Provincial Governor Mr. Nopadon Chongsomchai gave a report on the purpose of the event at the Budarakam Room, JP Emerald Hotel, Yasothon, Muang, Yasothon. The Labour Minister’s Advisor said that the Ministry of Labour plays a key role in promoting employment for the people to have a job and income by developing skills and the potential of the workforce, in order to provide workers with security for a stable life. It, therefore, establishes the vision of “labour as a high potential and a good quality of life” in response to the government’s vision to strive to develop and look after the people by creating sufficient income to reduce inequality. It also promotes for all Thai people of all ages to be ready, in both the principles of morality and ethics and to have the potential to live in the 21st century by the use of participatory public administration and networking, encouraging people to participate in the form of “labour volunteers”, which act as a representative of the Ministry of Labour in coordinating and mediating the provision of labour services to people in the area thoroughly.

          Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jak Punchoopet further said that this is a good opportunity for Yasothon, where the Ministry of Labour’s team has created this project to develop the potential in terms of knowledge, information, relevant labour laws and techniques in the presentation of labour services, in order to properly respond to the needs of the working-age, people in the area/community, and to keep up with the current labour situation. It also includes provisions of exchanges of experiences, discussions and suggestions for joint development of the integrated state-of-the-art civil service practices, that respond to the policies of the government and the Ministry of Labour, and provinces with efficiency and maximum effectiveness. Currently, Yasothon has 79 labour volunteers at the district level.
