MOL Commences “Healthy Thailand for Insured Persons” in Phetchaburi Province

          On June 29, 2020, at 09.00 hours, Assistant to the Labour Minister Dr. Duangrit Benjathukul Chairungrueng presided over the opening ceremony of the “Healthy Thailand for Insured Persons” project at the Noppakao meeting room, 9th floor, Ganesha Surasakang Building, King Mongkut’s Hospital in Phetchaburi. He said that the Ministry of Labour, by the Social Security Office has policies that focus on supporting the promotion of health promotion and proactive disease prevention to insured persons in the workplace. It gives importance to health in a comprehensive and thorough way, mainly for the benefit of the insured. He said that he was pleased with today’s event because this project could meet the conditions that Thailand and the world have experienced with the impact of the COVID-19 virus spread, placing importance on exercise and the consumption of clean food which is beneficial and hygienic. The project also promotes regular health checks which will lead to a better quality of life both, physically and mentally, as well as ways to reduce risk factors in health behavior through the 3H principles. The principles include helping, caring for employees and insured persons to receive legal benefits from the social security fund and Compensation Fund; Healthy, promoting health and disease prevention for employers, employees and insured persons; Harmless, which are activities to reduce hazards and create safety, both at work and after working hours.

          The event hosted a special lecture to promote health, on “prevention before healing” and work-related illness. There were also health checks from King Mongkut’s Hospital in Phetchaburi Province and exhibitions on professional training in medicine and rehabilitation of workers by the rehabilitation center for workers in Region 1, Pathum Thani Province, and an exhibition promoting work safety from the work safety center. The event also included activities by the Social Security Office and departments under the Ministry of Labour, by implementing social dstancing principles to prevent the spread of COVD-19.
