Labour Minister Assigns Assistant to Trat to Observe Occupational Training in Souvenir Making

          The Labour Minister assigned the Assistant to the Labour Minister to visit and observe occupational training of the physically deprived in souvenir making, in Trat province.
          On November 24, 2020, at 15.15 hours, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned Assistant to the Labour Minister Mr. Surachai Chaitrakulthong to visit the area and observe vocational enhancement training in making souvenirs at the Tha Prik Special Education Center, Trat. Deputy Governor of Trat Province Mr. Natthaphong Sanguanchit led the visit. The Tha Prik Special Education Center in Trat provides education as an early-stage assistance service center and prepares people with disabilities to support teaching and learning. It provides media, facilities, services, and other related assistance and accepts children with all types of disabilities, aged from newborns to 18 years, making daily trips to the center for those that live in the Trat area. Service users visit the center to be rehabilitated and to develop skills in various fields and to pass on to others. The center provides advice and counseling for parents and people with all types of disabilities and offers home services for children with severe disabilities in Trat province.
          Mr. Surachai thanked participants for the integration of work for vocational training in making souvenirs, offering it to those who may lack opportunities due to physical disabilities. The training duration is 18 hours and is scheduled for November 24 – 26, 2020. The center also offers professional skills training for participants to develop and lead to the occupation. Furthermore, the Special Education Center of Trat is expanding in online channels through the Little 9 fineday page. The center also has specialty shops, including coffee shops, which increase career opportunities and options, enabling them to enter society with pride and dignity and reduce their dependence on their family and society. Such a vocational training program is the first integration between the Special Education Center in Trat province and agencies under the Ministry of Labour. He said that he is also looking forward to further cooperation in working for the community and country.
