MOL Gives Press Conference on Preparations for the Thailand Labour Management Excellence Award 2020

                The Ministry of Labour gave a press conference on the Thailand Labour Management Excellence Award 2020 ceremony to recognize organizations with excellent labour management systems. The organizations will receive a royal award from Her Royal Highness Princess Sirindhorn this September 21, 2020, at the Swissotel Bangkok Ratchada.

                Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol chaired the press conference for the Thailand Labour Management Excellence Award 2020. He said that the Ministry of Labour prioritizes labour protection and ensures workers receive legal benefits and the development of the workforces’ potential and quality of life. This includes promoting employers and employees to jointly develop a labour management system in the workplace, following the provisions of the law and labour standards. Furthermore, it aims for efficient management systems for occupational health, safety and environment, and appropriate labour relations and welfare management systems. This will bring about good quality of life for employees and increase the competitiveness of business establishments.

                To honour business organizations that operate with good standards, the Ministry Ministry of Labor has therefore organized an award ceremony to recognize organizations with an excellent labour management system, complete in all aspects, and can maintain standards for a long time. The Ministry of Labour requested a trophy for the Thailand Labour Management Excellence Award from Her Royal Highness Princess Sirindhorn. For 2020, organizations that have been selected to receive the royal trophy will be awarded in 3 categories.  The large organizations’ category (1,000 employees or more) was awarded to Tyson Poultry (Thailand) Limited (Plant 5), the medium-sized organizations’ category (300 to 999 employees) was awarded to Gamma Industries Co., Ltd., and the small organizations’ category (1 to 299 employees) was awarded to Circuit Industries Co., Ltd. The three organizations will receive the royal award at the Thailand Labour Management Excellence Award 2020 ceremony, be held on Monday, September 21, 2020, at the Swissotel Bangkok Ratchada. The ceremony will also award companies with outstanding labour management systems in each area, such as the Outstanding Enterprise Award for Safety, Occupational Health, and Work Environment for 15 and 20 years, the Award for Outstanding Establishment for Labour Relations and Welfare for 15 consecutive years and honourary awards for companies that have maintained Thai labour standards for ten consecutive years, for example.

                The Permanent Secretary of Labour further said that the Thailand Labour Management Excellence Award is an honour and shared pride among employers and employees. Award-winning companies will be a model for others to recognize the importance of improving the quality of life for their workforce and creating a sense of social responsibility in the workplace towards sustainability.
