MOL Shares Good News On Free Training and Scholarship in “Elderly Care” Guaranteeing a Job

          The Deputy Labour Minister revealed that the Kluay Nam Thai Hospital and Kluay Nam Thai Foundation had organized online training courses in elderly care for free. Upon completion, trainees will have a job. The project delivers opportunities to the disadvantaged and those who do not have the funding or are unemployed.

          On January 15, 2021, Deputy Labour Minister Prof. Narumon Pinyosinwat reported that the Ministry of Labour has a Memorandum of Cooperation on skill development in elderly care, in collaboration with affiliated companies of Kluay Nam Thai Hospital and Kluay Nam Thai Foundation. The project aims to integrate the missions between the Department of Skill Development and Kluaynamthai Hospital in labour development, to develop personnel or workers who provide care for the elderly, which remains scarce and insufficient to meet demand. It also supports and promotes building skills to meet standards for both domestic and international markets.

          Prof. Narumon added that the school currently trains employees. Kluaynamthai Hospital has organized an online learning program for elderly care. This is a course that offers scholarships to the disadvantaged, including those who do not have funding. While studying, there will be no expenses. Accommodation, meals, and uniforms will be provided during training. After completing this course, trainees will care for elderly patients with Junior and Senior Home Healthcare Company Limited, one of Kluaynamthai Hospital’s affiliated companies. The duration of employment is two years without paying funds back, earning a monthly income of 13,000-15,000 Baht, including overtime pay or OT, of 800 Baht per day. After working for two years, the trainees are allowed to work in other organizations are desired.

          Those interested in applying for a scholarship to study the course must be female, aged 18-35 years and at a disadvantage, lacking funds, or are unemployed. Applicants must have certification of Grade 9 or above, have good health, and be free of any illness that impedes schooling. Applicants must also be well, service-minded, weigh no less than 40 kilograms and no more than 75 kilograms, at no less than155 centimeters tall.
