On May 18 2012, Mrs. Ratiwann Suntra, Minister Counsellor (Labour Affairs) attended a press conference on the organization of 2012 Songkran Festival at Taoyuan Municipality Office.

 

 

 

         

At the press conference, which was held at the office’s hall on the ground floor, Taoyuan Governor said the organization of Songkran Festival is part of cooperation between Taoyuan Municipality and Office of Labour Affairs in Taiwan (Section 2 Taipei) that has continued for years. The festival is held annually for foreign workers, particularly Thais, to celebrate their New Year. Entertainment activities and shows by Thai singers and musicians would be arranged at the festival this year.
 
Meanwhile, on her part, Mrs. Ratiwann thanked Taoyuan Municipality for its assistance on the organization of 2012 Songkran Festival, adding that she hoped Taoyuan Municipality would continue to provide support for the organization of such the activity in years ahead. She also urged Thai workers to join the festival which would be held on May 22, 2012; so that they would have a chance to meet other Thai people in Taipei and be part of the fun.
