Office of Labour Affairs and Royal Thai Embassy in Brunei built Petanque field to encourage people to exercise.

         According to H.M. the Queen’s 79th Birthday Anniversary on12 August 2011 and HM. The King’s 84 Birthday Anniversary on 5 December 2011, Office o f Royal Affairs in Brunei, Royal Thai Embassy along with Thais in Brunei and Mr. Somsak Juichoonprasert (Coach Jor) pooled an effort to build 1 Petanque field in the area of Royal Thai Embassy in front of lobby room adjacent to Office of Labour Affairs in Brunei in order for civil servants, officials, Thais and Thai labours to come to exercise and use for petanque tournament
        Mr.Anachak Suttayon, Labour Counsellor (labour) revealed that Mr. Somsak or Coach Jor is world top-ranked petanque player and has been hired by Brunei government to be a coach of Brunei petanque team for over 2 years which could bring the champions of the 1st Borneo Cup Petanque Championship 2011 and others tournaments to Brunei Darussalam. Moreover, Petanque is getting more popular since Office of Labour Affairs and Royal Thai Embassy and Thai association held charity petanque tournament and donated whole income to help flood hit people in Southern part of Thailand. This is, therefore, a good opportunity to encourage Thai people to exercise and bring unity to all of them.
       Currently, Royal Thai Embassy has 3 petanque fields at recreation area behind the building. After building up the new one, all those 4 can support the tournaments and exercise. It is anticipate that people will come to exercise and meet each other so as to reduce pressure from work and to relax and make relationships among them.
