Labour Minister Assigns Trai Thep Phithak Task Force to Crackdown on Foreigners Taking Jobs Reserved for Thais in Large Shopping Malls in Central Bangkok: Sends Over 21 Cases for Prosecution

On February 11, 2025, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Minister of Labour, assigned officers from the special task force “Trai Thep Phithak” to inspect the work of illegal foreign workers and human trafficking in Bangkok. The investigations uncovered 21 foreign workers in jobs reserved for Thai people. This integrated search followed the inspection plan of the project to inspect employment, employment conditions, forced labour or services, and the use of child labour in the worst form among foreign workers, which focused on protecting Thais whose jobs were taken by foreign workers, foreign workers working without permission, including monitoring human trafficking in the workforce by suppressing, arresting, and prosecuting foreign workers and employers and businesses that violate the law. “Currently, the Ministry of Labour is in the process of granting an exemption to Cambodian and Myanmar workers whose employers have submitted their list of names by February 13, 2025. MOL Ranks 2nd in the Country in the ITA 2024 Assessment, Averaging 93.69 Points in Ethics and Transparency Among 21 Ministries

     On August 2, 2024, the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Pairoj Chotikasathien, reported that on July 30, 2024, the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) announced the results from the Integrity and Transparency Assessment (ITA) for the 2024 fiscal year 2024 at the ITA DAY & ITA AWARDS 2024 under the concept of Transparency with Quality. This year, the Ministry of Labour had an average score of 93.69 out of 100, ranking second in the country out of a total of 21 ministries. In the evaluation, the score improved from 2023, when it was ranked fifth. In first place was the Ministry of Industry, which received an evaluation result of 93.85 points. Labour Minister Assigns Permanent Secretary of Labour and MOL Spokesperson to Lead Executives to Congratulate Komchadluek on 21st Anniversary

          On October 17, 2022, at 11.30 hours, the Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, assigned the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Boonchob Suttamanaswong, and the Ministry of Labour’s Spokesperson (on Politics), Mrs. Thienrat Navamawat, to lead the Ministry of Labour’s executives to present a flower basket to congratulate Komchadluek on its 21st anniversary and start to its 22nd year.             On April 12, 2022, at 08.15 hours, Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Boonchob Suttamanaswong, joined the ceremony to carry on the culture and traditions of the Songkran Festival for 2022. The occasion consisted of a monk ceremony, a ceremony to bathe the Buddha, and a watering ceremony for blessings for good fortune and to join in the continuation of Thai culture in the Songkran tradition. The occasion took place under measures to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus and the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration requirements. MOL Organizes Ceremony for Royal Insignias on the Sash for 2021

         On April 4, 2022, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin presided over the ceremony to receive the royal insignia on the sash for 2021, in front of the His Majesty the King’s portrait. High-ranking executives also joined the ceremony, which took place at the Jompol P. Phibulsongkram room, 5th floor, Ministry of Labour. Permanent Secretary of Labour Chairs 21st Wage Committee Meeting No. 1/2022

On February 9, 2022, at 13.30 hours, Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Boonchob Suttamanaswong, chaired the 21st Wage Committee Meeting No. 1/2022. The meeting considered the appointment of a subcommittee on considering the provincial minimum wage rate, the appointment of a subcommittee on considering the provincial minimum wage rate in place of the vacant positions, a training program to enhance knowledge, and preparing information for consideration of the minimum wage rate of the subcommittee considering the provincial minimum wage rate for Provincial Labour Office Officials. It also considered the implementation plan to determine the wage rate according to skill standards 2022 and the composition of the subcommittee on the wage rates according to skill standards in 3 career fields.           On February 2, 2022, at 09.30 hours, the Labour Minister’s Advisor, Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan, presided over the Thai Red Cross Society lottery award ceremony, the “Lucky Labour Tickets” for 2021. The Ministry of Labour’s Spokesperson (on politics), Mrs. Theanrat Nawamawat, Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Boonchob Suttamanaswong, and Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour, Ms. Bubpha Rueangsud, joined to honour and witness the award ceremony at the 1st floor of the Ministry of Labour.           As for the Thai Red Cross Society lottery awards, the “Lucky Labour Tickets” for 2021, the first prize, a passenger car, the All-New MG 5, Model X, with one car, was awarded to Mr. Sommai Kittinatphong. The second prize, a gold necklace weighing 5 Baht, with one prize, was awarded to Mrs. Benjarin Chantanakhet. The third prize, a gold necklace weighing 1 Baht, with six prizes, was awarded to Khun Rungtham Prathieng, Khun Rattana Amparat, and Parichart Asset and Construction Company Limited.
