On November 11, 2024, at 3:00 p.m., Mr. Boonsong Thapchaiyuth, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Labor, assigned Ms. Buppha Ruangsud, Director-General of the Department of Skill Development and Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary, as the representative of the Ministry of Labor to preside over the funeral ceremony of Mr. Thana Tijanthuek. Mr. Thana, a Thai worker from Nakhon Ratchasima Province, died due to a rocket attack from Lebanon targeting the town of Metula in northern Israel on October 31, 2024. The ceremony was attended by the District Chief of Sikhio, heads of government offices under the Ministry of Labor in Nakhon Ratchasima, and other attendees who expressed their condolences to Mr. Thana’s relatives. On October 28, 2024, the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Boonsong Thapchaiyut, spoke about the case of an employee in Samut Prakan Province who was hit by a crane and died. The 47th WorldSkills Competition in Lyon, or WorldSkills Lyon 2024, in France, is scheduled to take place between September 11 to 14, 2024. There are 59 categories and three demonstration categories in total, with Thailand competing in 19 categories.
