On November 27, 2024, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Minister of Labour, launched a project aimed at raising awareness and promoting social security for freelancers and volunteer workers in Bangkok. The event was attended by Mr. Aree Krailnara, Secretary to the Minister of Labour; Mr. Boonsong Thapchaiyut, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Labour; Ms. Marasri Jairangsi, Secretary-General of the Social Security Office; along with senior executives from the Ministry of Labour, Social Security Office representatives, volunteer workers, Social Security Section 40 network members in Bangkok, and members of the media. On November 25, 2024, at 14.00 hours,  the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, the Assistant to the Labour Minister, Mr. Siraphop Duangsodsri, the Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-General, Mr. Samat Pattamasukon, the Department of Employment’s Director-General, Mr. Somchai Morakotsriwan, the Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Decha Phruekpattanarak, and the Ministry of Labour’s executives joined a discussion with 13 of Thailand’s leading recruitment companies at the Prasong Rananant meeting room, 5th floor, Ministry of Labour.   The Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, said that he, along with the executives of the Ministry of Labour, was pleased to have the discussion with the 13 recruitment companies today. Funeral Held for Korat Worker Who Died in Israel; ‘Permanent Secretary Boonsong’ Sends Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary to Offer Benefits and Condolences to the Family

On November 11, 2024, at 3:00 p.m., Mr. Boonsong Thapchaiyuth, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Labor, assigned Ms. Buppha Ruangsud, Director-General of the Department of Skill Development and Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary, as the representative of the Ministry of Labor to preside over the funeral ceremony of Mr. Thana Tijanthuek. Mr. Thana, a Thai worker from Nakhon Ratchasima Province, died due to a rocket attack from Lebanon targeting the town of Metula in northern Israel on October 31, 2024. The ceremony was attended by the District Chief of Sikhio, heads of government offices under the Ministry of Labor in Nakhon Ratchasima, and other attendees who expressed their condolences to Mr. Thana’s relatives. They laid sandalwood flowers and performed the final farewell ceremony at Song Phi Nong Charoentham Temple, Krissana Subdistrict, Sikhio District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. Labour Minister Instructs the Permanent Secretary of Labour to Support the Family of the Employee Killed in a Crane Accident in Samut Prakan to Receive Legally Entitled Benefits

On October 28, 2024, the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Boonsong Thapchaiyut, spoke about the case of an employee in Samut Prakan Province who was hit by a crane and died. Once the Ministry of Labour learned of the news, the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, immediately instructed the Permanent Secretary of Labour to assign agencies under the Ministry of Labour to go to the area to aid and ensure that the people receive the benefits they are entitled to under the law as soon as possible. On October 12, 2024, at 11:30 a.m., Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Minister of Labor, along with Mr. Boonsong Thapchaiyut, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Labor, Mr. Decha Pruksaphatthanarak, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Labor and Acting Director-General of the Department of Skill Development, Mr. Somchai Morakotsriwan, Director-General of the Department of Employment, and senior officials from the Ministry of Labor visited the area for the third time. This follows a previous commitment to assist the people of Mae Sai district who faced difficulties after floodwaters receded, leaving mud deposits in homes and shops, making cleanup challenging. On September 11, 1024, at 10.00 hours, local time in Lyon, France, the Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Decha Phruekpattanarak, the Department of Skill Development’s Director-General, Ms. Bubpha Rueangsud, and the Deputy Director-General of the Department of Skill Development, Mr. Pichet Thongphan, and delegation, visited the 47th WorldSkills Lyon 2024. Labour Minister Gives Speech to Send Off Thai Youths Participating in 47th WorldSkills Competition

On September 6, 2024, at 09.00 hours, the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, gave a speech to Thailand’s youth representatives who will travel to participate in the 47th WorldSkills Competition in Lyon or WorldSkills Lyon 2024, in France. The Social Security Office’s Secretary-General, Mr. Boonsong Thapchaiyut, the Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Decha Phruekpattanarak, the Department of Skill Development’s Director-General, Ms. Bubpha Rueangsud, and the Ministry of Labour’s executives, joined the event at the Chatumongkol Room, 6th floor, Ministry of Labor Building. The 47th WorldSkills Competition in Lyon, or WorldSkills Lyon 2024, in France, is scheduled to take place between September 11 to 14, 2024. There are 59 categories and three demonstration categories in total, with Thailand competing in 19 categories. There are 22 Thai youth representatives participating in the competition, with 3 teams and 16 individuals.

Labour Minister Establishes Standards for Assessors and Issues Certificates for Muay Thai Teachers at Assessment Centers Nationwide

On September 5, 2024, the Secretariat to the Labour Minister, Mr. Aree Krainara, received the policy of the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, to chair the opening ceremony of the training for labour skill standards assessors in the Muay Thai trainer branch. Those who pass this training will be the people who will act as judges or evaluators for those who will become boxing teachers. Most of them are in the boxing industry. Some may be professional boxers, but due to their old age and experience, they have turned to being an assessor for people to become Muay Thai teachers.
