“Permanent Secretary” Reports 14 Guidelines Concluded from Discussions with Fishing Associations

           At a meeting of the working group to improve criteria for implementation following C188 on Work in Fishing, the Permanent Secretary of Labour reported the conclusions on demands made by fishermen; all 14 proposals will be made to the Labour Minister with discussions with fishing associations from the 22 coastal provinces again on January 24th.

 

“Gen. Adul” Acknowledges 14 Requests and Affirms Conclusion within 1 Month Before Ratifying C188 on 30 Jan 2018

             The Labour Minister ordered the setup of a small working group to consider and answer 14 requests from fishermen in the 22 coastal provinces and to form a settlement within one month. Police General Adul Sangsingkeo presided over the meeting of relevant agencies to develop and review the laws in the fishing business. The meeting took place at the Prof. Nikom Chandravithu Conference Room, 5th Floor, Ministry of Labour. MOL Joins 14th SLOM and 16th SLOM+3 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

             Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suradech Ittikul led Thai representatives at the 14th ASEAN Senior Labour Officials Meeting (14th SLOM) and 16th ASEAN Plus Three Senior Labour Officials Meeting (16th SLOM+3) from November 25-26, 2018 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, organized by the Malaysian Ministry of Human Resources. The objective was to 1) Discuss and exchange views on the implementation of the ASEAN Senior Officials Framework and ASEAN plus three such as employment, social protection, promotion of environmentally friendly work, promotion and protection of migrant workers’ rights; and 2) Follow up the implementation progress of the ASEAN Senior Officials Framework and seek channels to expand cooperation with other sectoral bodies under key headings which are promoting green jobs for equity and inclusive growth of ASEAN Community.              On the 16th of November 2014, Lieutenant Commander Witawas Kooprasert Consul (on Labour) with Miss Ausa Srithoop, Deputy Conul (on Labour) and Miss Rungruedee Huadseng, Official at the Labour Office in Hong Kong collaborated with the 8th batch of students from Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University, in the project of seniors welcoming juniors through the green-gold fence.

Office of Labour Affairs in Taiwan: Taipei ranked 14th most expensive city in Asia

 

A survey by a consulting firm ECA International showed that the cost of living in Taipei is ranked 14th in Asia, down by one position from last year, and 69th in the world. Tokyo is the most expensive city in Asia and 10th in the world, down from last year due to yen depreciation, according to the survey. Beijing is now the second most expensive city in Asia, up from fifth position last year, and 15th in the world. Shanghai is in fourth place in Asia and 18th in the world, while Hong Kong is the eighth most expensive city in Asia and 28th in the world.
