Labour Minister Pleased as Over 110,000 Job Positions Secured for Thais Domestically and Overseas; Notes Income from Overseas Employment Exceeds THB 99Bn

          Ms. Trinuch Thienthong, Minister of Labour, disclosed figures on job placements between September 26, 2025, and February 1, 2026, stating that 66,741 people were placed in jobs domestically through the Thai Mee Ngan Tham (Thailand Has Jobs) system. Most placements were in the manufacturing sector, sales staff, general office personnel, warehouse staff, and drivers. In addition, the JOB EXPO THAILAND 2026, held from January 16–18, 2026, resulted in a further 3,795 people being successfully placed in employment.           The Labour Minister stated that the deployment of Thai workers overseas has also achieved highly satisfactory results. During the period from September 26, 2025, to February 1, 2026, the Ministry of Labour successfully facilitated the overseas employment of 40,086 Thai workers, representing 77.09% of the target of 52,000 placements. The figures, categorised by mode of deployment, include: 6,131 workers deployed by the Department of Employment; 11,859 workers deployed through recruitment agencies; 2,564 workers taken overseas by employers; 464 workers sent overseas for training by employers; and 19,068 workers who travelled independently or through re-entry arrangements.           Ms. Trinuch added that she has […]

Labour Minister Presides Over 100-Day Merit-Making Ceremony and Alms-Giving in Dedication as Royal Merit to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother

January 29, 2026, at 8.00 hours – Ms. Trinuch Thienthong, Minister of Labour, presided over the 100-day merit-making ceremony and an alms-giving to 10 monks and novices, dedicated as a royal merit to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother, on the occasion marking 100 days since Her Majesty’s passing. The ceremony was attended by Pol. Lt. Col. Wannapong Kotcharak, Permanent Secretary of Labour, senior executives of the Ministry of Labour, as well as civil servants and officials of the Ministry of Labour. The event was held at the Child Development Promotion Centre for the Ministry of Labour Personnel.

Labour Minister Visits Trang to Follow Up and Drive Legal Employment of Foreign Workers, 100 Percent Covered under Social Security

            On April 20, 2025, at 13.30 hours, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Minister of Labour, chaired the meeting of the heads of departments under the Ministry of Labour in Trang Province to inspect, follow up and drive 100 percent of foreign workers in the social security system. Mr. Songklod Sawangwong, Governor of Trang Province, welcomed the delegation. On March 6, 2025, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Minister of Labour, chaired the State Enterprise Labour Relations Committee (SELR) Meeting No. 2/2025, at the Prof. Nikom Chantravitun Meeting Room, 5th floor, Department of Labour Protection and Welfare. Mr. Boonsong Thapchaiyut, the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Lieutenant Commander Saroj Khomkhai, the Director-General of the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare, and the new State Enterprise Labour Relations Committee, which consists of three parties, employers, employees and the government, attended the meeting. Mr. Phiphat said that the meeting focused on developing welfare, protecting labour rights, and strengthening labour relations in state enterprises, with the following key issues for consideration: Adjusting wages of state enterprises. The parties agreed to define the scope of employment conditions related to finance by adjusting wages not to exceed 10 percent of the current wages received within 2 years. On January 11, 2025, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Minister of Labour, chaired the scholarship award ceremony on the occasion of National Children’s Day 2025 by the Ministry of Labour. The Labour Minister gave an opening speech, gave gifts to children, and visited activity booths organized by agencies under the Ministry of Labour and business establishments.      On June 24, 2024, the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, paid a visit to give encouragement and advice to 309 Thai workers who received training before traveling to work in Israel. The Foreign Worker Management Policy Committee prepared a proposal to the Cabinet to extend the service period for CI centers in 4 provinces of Samut Sakhon, Samut Prakan, Ranong, and Chonburi, to February 13, 2023. and approve the amendment of the Ministry of Labour’s announcement on allowing migrant workers with high potential to work in the Kingdom as a special case, following the economic and investment stimulus measures.           On September 2, 2022, the Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, chaired the Foreign Work Management Policy Committee Meeting No. 3/2022.           On June 8, 2022, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin, Assistant to the Labour Minister Mr. Surachai Chaitrakulthong, Assistant Minister from the Prime Minister’s Office, performing duties for the Ministry of Labour Police Major General Nantachat Supamongkol, Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Boonchob Suttamanaswong, the Ministry of Labour’s executives, government representatives, employer, and employee representatives traveled to Geneva in Switzerland between June 7 to 13, 2022, to join the 110th International Labour Conference (ILC) which took place in a hybrid form, following Thailand’s membership since its establishment in 1919. Labour Minister Asks Business Operators to Understand the People and Hold Price Increases, Clarifying Measures to Reduce Contributions will Help Employers and Circulate 100Bn Baht in the Economy

          Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin revealed that the Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha and Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan, who supervises the Ministry of Labour, have continually monitored the impact of the Ukraine-Russia conflict, including the situation of the Covid-19 pandemic. The government has not stayed still and is concerned about the people and workforce. The situation is considered a double crisis, with both the pandemic and war occurring. Therefore, measures have been issued to help heal and reduce the impact. The Ministry of Labour has taken steps to reduce the expenses of the people and the cost of production for employers. It has taken actions to reduce the contributions for both employers and insured persons in all sections, including Sections 33,39, and 40, for three months, from May to July 2022.
