            Today (June 13, 2018) H.E. Police General Adul Sang Sangsingkeo, Minister of Labor as the president of the World Anti-Child Labor Day, presided over the opening ceremony of the anti-child labor day in the year 2018. Mr. Jarin Chakkaphark, Permanent Secretary of Labor, delivered a speech at the 5th floor of the Ministry of Labor. At the same time, the Minister of Labor said. Thailand has ratified the ILO Convention 182 on Prohibition and Immediate Action to eliminate the worst form of child labor since 2001, with the provision that ratified Member States should take immediate measures. And effectively to achieve the banning and elimination of the worst forms of child labor. It is an urgent task. The Ministry of Labor joined with the International Labor Organization And the parties have collaborated to develop national policies and plans to eliminate the worst forms of child labor in the fiscal year 2015-2063, the second national plan.

            According to the report on the situation and the removal of child labor in the worst form in the year 2016 by the US Department of Labor, the situation of child labor in Thailand is likely to decrease. It is estimated that “Significant Advancement” demonstrates efforts to tackle and address the problem of child labor in a bad way. The Ministry of Labor has an important policy to supervise child workers to be protected by law, to take measures to prevent the problem of child labor, to enforce the law seriously, to engage with all sectors of society to demonstrate the power of fighting for the protection of children’s rights and human rights.
           In addition, the event featured interesting lectures on “Labor Dispute Resolution to Celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the International Labor Organization” by Graeme Buckley, Director of the International Labor Office. There are about 500 government agencies, NGOs, employers, employees and children and the general public.
           Then H.E. Police General Adul Sangsingkeo presided of the MOU Signing Ceremony of the Thailand Child Labor Survey Witness with Pol. Gen. Poolsak Ubontepchai, Chairman of the Subcommittee on the Suppression of Labor Force and Human Trafficking in the Fisheries Sector, signed the MoU as a collaboration between the Ministry of Labor National Statistical Office and the International Labor Organization. The survey will be conducted from June 2018 to February 2019, which is a national priority. For this survey The Ministry of Labor is supported by government budget and technical cooperation from the International Labor Organization in order to comply with the regulations and results in accordance with international standards. This will have a positive impact on the image of Thai products and build confidence in consumers.
