Labour Minister Assigns Secretariat to Monitor Progress of Co-Payment Project to Drive Employment for Graduates

          Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned the Secretariat to the Labour Minister to join the meeting to monitor the new employment promotion program’s progress for new graduates between the public and private sectors (Co-payment), driving employment among fresh graduates.
          On October 22, 2020, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned Secretariat to the Labour Minister Mr. Surachai Chaitrakulthong, to chair a workshop on creating an employment database for new graduates the 2018 -2020 academic year. The event took place at the meeting room, 5th floor, Office of the Vocational Education Commission. Ministry of Education. The Labour Minister’s Secretariat said that the government under the leadership of Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha emphasizes the importance of promoting employment among those affected by Covid-19 and new graduates to drive the country’s economy to recover quickly. Today, Labour Minister Suchart Chomklin assigned the Secretariat to attend a meeting with the administrators of the Ministry of Education’s Office of the Vocational Education Commission and relevant agencies, to monitor employment results in the government sector, under the new employment promotion program for new graduates by the public and private sectors (Co-payment), on the programs progressions. The meeting also discussed in detail about cooperation between the Ministry of Labour and the Ministry of Education’s Office of the Vocational Education Commission to drive employment for fresh graduates, in line with the government’s policy to promote employment for working people and alleviate the suffering of the unemployment as a result of Covid-19.
          The new employment promotion program for new graduates between the public and private sectors (Co-payment) aims to process 260,000 people from October 2020 – September 2021. The qualifications of employers and establishments wishing to join the program must be in the social security system, having terminated no more than 15% of the employee population within one year from the date of consideration to join the program, and new graduates employment contracts must be for one year. Or, if a graduate resigns during the project, the company can find a replacement graduate. The new graduates must be of Thai nationality and have never been in the social security system before. They must not be over 25 years old, or if they are over 25, they must have been a graduate from the 2019 or 2020 academic year. New graduates studying at the Bachelor’s, vocational, and grade 6 level can register through the “Thaimeengartum.com” website, click the banner hiring new graduates, and then follow the registration process accordingly.
