He also gave a special lecture on “labour volunteers as the driving force of the Ministry of Labour’s missions,” at the Central Place Hotel, Samut Sakhon. The Advisor to the Labour Minister said that the Ministry of Labour has a mission to look after the lives of people and workers in all areas, especially in terms of employment, skills development and protection, and welfare at work. The Ministry of Labour’s administrative structure includes departments at the provincial level. Therefore, working efficiently and efficiently requires a local network which are the labour volunteers, working together and acting as a medium to deliver various services of the Ministry of Labour to the people who suffer, enabling them to have a career and income, to receive protection and to develop skills, as well as social welfare care. This is for all workers, whether they are in the system or independent workers. Labour volunteers help oversee and inform agencies under the Ministry of Labour about the peoples’ needs in different areas, resulting in accurate and quick solutions. Labour volunteers are incredibly selfless because they sacrifice their personal and family time to work as a driving force for the government to help people in need, without expecting returns.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jak continued that drug problems today have spread to all groups, both youths and in the workplace, including foreign workers. Therefore, it is one of the Ministry of Labour’s mission to help stop the spread of narcotics in the area of responsibility, to prevent the spread of drugs in the workplace. A total of 80 labour volunteers joined the training, with ten mentors. The training was supported by speakers from the Office of Narcotic Prevention and Suppression Region 7 and experts on development and teamwork, who shared their knowledge as well.
