Labour Minister’s Assistant Monitors Covid-19 Situation Among Central and Eastern Provinces Through Video Conference

          On January 7, 2021, at 14.00 hours, Assistant to the Labour Minister Mr. Surachai Chaitrakulthong chaired the meeting to monitor the Covid-19 situation in the central and eastern provinces through video conference, to monitor the situation report and take other actions related to the orders the MOL CCSA in the province. Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour Ms. Ampun Thuvavit, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Niyom Songkaew, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Phairoj Chotikasathian, also joined the meeting at Prasong Rananant meeting room, 5th floor, Ministry of Labour.
          The meeting informed the Ministry of Labour’s announcement on the request for cooperation to prohibit foreign workers’ movement into or from outside areas at risk of the spread of Covid-19. It also discussed the Ministry of Labour’s orders on the establishment of Ministry of Labour’s Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration Center (MOL CCSA) and the Cabinet’s resolution on allowing migrant workers of the three nationalities (Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar) to stay in the Kingdom and work legally under a special case that is the new wave of the Covid-19 outbreak. The meeting further acknowledged the presentation of the cumulative number of infected patients from the new outbreak among Thai and migrant workers (classification by nationality) in the province, the number of establishments, and an overview of establishments with infected Thai and foreign workers. The meeting covered the operation of transportation to quarantine facilities or treatment, overall measures, provincial labour-specific measures to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic, remedies for affected insured persons, and trends in the use of the “Doctor Chana” application for self-care and protection from Covid-19.
