Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Anurak Tossarat led the Ministry of Labour’s executive committee and officials from the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Department of Employment, Department of Skills Development and Department of Labour Protection and Welfare to volunteer for the royal cremation ceremony at the Din Daeng District Office. The volunteers will unite together and join with the power of the people in honour of the Late King before the royal cremation ceremony.
Volunteers must being evidence of their identity such as their original Thai identification card, however children under the age of 7 without identification cards are required to present any documentation with their ID number such as a birth certificate or house registration and volunteer notebook of good deeds (if any). The types of voluntary work include paper daffodil folding, arranging booths, distributing and collecting materials for the daffodil folding and managing people joining the flower folding activities. On the information side, volunteers will help disseminate information about the royal cremation and be a reception for the people at different spots. For civil work, volunteers will help in facility set up, maintain cleanliness and order before, during and after the royal ceremonies. There will also be transportation work for the safety and convenience of the people such as by cars, motorcycles, boats, electric golf carts and trams, as well as helping the people to navigate their way around the vicinity. Service work will include helping to source or manage food and beverages, preparing umbrellas and rain coats, and coordinating people within the resting zones. Medical work includes supporting medics, nurses and provision of first aid and basic life support when needed, including scouting emergency routes for ambulances. Safety management responsibilities will include observing situations and reporting any suspicious to officers before, during and after the royal cremation ceremony, whereas traffic work volunteers will be responsible for managing cars, parking, crossings, giving direction and reporting accidents. The timeframe for volunteer work will be from 18 to 31 October 2016.
