Permanent Secretary of Labour Assigns Assistant to Join Coordination and Supervision Committee Meeting on Human Trafficking Prevention and Suppression No. 2/2024

            On August 15, 2024, at 11.00 hours, the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Pairoj Chotikasathien, assigned the Assistant to the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Sakdinart Sonthisakyotin, to participate in the Coordination and Supervision Committee Meeting on Human Trafficking Prevention and Suppression No. 2/2024, which took place at Meeting Room 301, Building 1, Government Houses.             The meeting informed the progress report on resolving issues of Thai wild fruit pickers in Sweden for the 2024 season of relevant agencies and the order to appoint qualified committee members to the committee to coordinate and supervise the operation of prevention and suppression of human trafficking.           On August 5, 2024, at 15.00 hours, the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Pairoj Chotikasathien, chaired the Office of the Permanent Secretary of Labour Meeting No. 5/2024. Labour Minister Chairs MOL Executive Meeting No. 5/2024

     On August 5, 2024, at 09.30 hours, the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, chaired the Ministry of Labour’s Executive Meeting No. 5/2024 to acknowledge performance reports following the Labour Minister’s instructions. The Assistant to the Labour Minister, Mr. Siraphop Duangsodsri, the Labour Minister’s Advisor, Mr. Thanat Thaweekueakulkit, the Secretariat to the Labour Minister, Mr. Aree Krainara, from the Prime Minister’s Secretariat’s Office, performing duties for the Ministry of Labour, Mr. Phuchong Worasri, the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Pairoj Chotikasathien, and the Ministry of Labour’s executives, joined the meeting at the Prof. Nikom Chantravitun Meeting Room, 5th floor, Ministry of Labour. MOL Ranks 2nd in the Country in the ITA 2024 Assessment, Averaging 93.69 Points in Ethics and Transparency Among 21 Ministries

     On August 2, 2024, the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Pairoj Chotikasathien, reported that on July 30, 2024, the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) announced the results from the Integrity and Transparency Assessment (ITA) for the 2024 fiscal year 2024 at the ITA DAY & ITA AWARDS 2024 under the concept of Transparency with Quality. This year, the Ministry of Labour had an average score of 93.69 out of 100, ranking second in the country out of a total of 21 ministries. In the evaluation, the score improved from 2023, when it was ranked fifth. In first place was the Ministry of Industry, which received an evaluation result of 93.85 points. Labour Minister Supports Labour Graduates as an Important Cog to Help Thai Workers and Moves Forward to Cover all Districts in Thailand by 2026, Helping the Unemployed and Elderly to Work from Home in the Area

   On August 1, 1024, at 14.00 hours, the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, presided over the opening ceremony of the seminar and gave policies to participants of the workshop on “Developing the Potential of Labour Services in the Area by Labour Graduates” for the 2024 fiscal year. The Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Pairoj Chotikasathien, reported the objectives of the event.           On July 30, 2024, at 09.30 hours, the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Pairoj Chotikasathien, chaired the Labour Skill Development Promotion Committee Meeting No. 5/2024.           On July 3, 2024, at 09.00 hours, the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Pairoj Chotikasathien, welcomed the Public Sector Excellence Award Evaluation Committee in the Public Sector Management Quality Branch for 2024, category four on organizational performance analysis and knowledge management of the Office of the Permanent Secretary of Labour. The committee was led by the Chairperson of the Evaluation Committee, Mrs. Methini Thepmanee, together with the Evaluation Committee Member, Mr. Chainarong Chochai, and the Evaluation Committee Member from the OPDC, Mrs. Kittiya Kamphi. Labour Minister Organizes Job Expo 2024, Offering Over 700,000 Position Vacancies, Emphasizing Support For Over 1 Million Thai Workers This Year

The Ministry of Labour’s Spokesperson, Mr. Phumiphat Mueanchan, reported that the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, has invited the public to join Thailand’s most fun income-generating job fair or Job Expo Thailand 2024 between June 28 to 30, 2024, from 11.00 to 21.00 hours at Halls 6 – 7, at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. There will be 222 employers/establishments recruiting, offering over 700,000 job positions nationwide to support job applicants. The companies include Minor International, Huawei Technology (Thailand), Thai Airways International, Thai Namthip Corporation, Thai Beverages, and others. There will be 30 overseas employers/establishments offering over 100,000 overseas job positions in countries such as Taiwan, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Poland, Malaysia, Portugal, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Israel. The most popular positions include construction, welders, the bicycle industry, foremen, and domestic workers, which have a relatively high wage rate.             On June 21, 2024, the Labour Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, paid a visit to give encouragement and advice to 241 Thai workers receiving training before traveling to work in Taiwan and Japan. The Assistant to the Labour Minister, Mr. Siraphop Duangsodsri, the Secretariat to the Labour Minister, Mr. Aree Krainara, from the Prime Minister’s Secretariat’s Office, performing duties for the Ministry of Labour, Mr. Phuchong Worasri, and the Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-General Ms. Bunyawee Khaipan joined in the visit to give encouragement.
