          Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin joined the Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha’s delegation on an official government inspection in Chiang Mai. The Ministry of Labour’s Spokesperson (on politics), Mrs. Thienrat Navamawat, the Department of Employment’s Director-General, Mr. Pairoj Chotiksetian, the Department of Skill Development’s Director-General, Mr. Prateep Songlamyong, the Social Security Office’s Secretary-General, Mr. Boonsong Thapchaiyut, and heads of government agencies under the Ministry of Labour in Chiang Mai Province participated in the occasion too.             On June 23, 2022, at 13.30 hours, the Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour, Ms. Bubpha Rueangsud, chaired the Employee Welfare Fund Committee Meeting No. 6/2022. The meeting considered the application for assistance in cases other than compensation, the request for approval to cancel the meeting resolution, the consideration of disposing of debt from the account as bad debt and a 3-year long-term digital action plan (2021-2023), and the digital action plan for the 2022 fiscal year of the Employee Welfare Fund. It also considered the information database system and the development plan for evaluating the results and impacts of the 3-year long-term employee welfare fund (2021-2023). MOL Commences Focus Group Workshop on Presenting the Screen Design Format to Develop a Cybersecurity Framework in the Digital Age 5.0

          On June 21, 2022, at 09.00 hours, Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Boonchob Suttamanaswong, assigned the Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-General, Mrs. Tongjai Suthat Na Ayutthaya, to preside over the opening ceremony of the focus group workshop to present the screen design format for the “Confirm Phototype Wireframe (UX/UI) Project” to study, design, and develop a framework for cybersecurity transition in the digital age 5.0, for Thai government agencies. Concerned PM Instructs Labour Minister to Closely Support Daruma Sushi Employees Who Were Laid Off

            On June 21, 2022, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin spoke about the progress of helping Daruma Sushi employees who were laid off. As soon as they heard the news, Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha, and Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan, who oversees the Ministry of Labour, were concerned about the employees. They assigned the Ministry of Labour to support the employees to receive benefits and protection under the law.           On June 21, 2022, Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Boonchob Suttamanaswong, presided over the Office of the Permanent Secretary of Labour’s Meeting No. 5/2022 at the Prasong Rananant Conference Room, 5th floor, Ministry of Labour. The meeting acknowledged the report on operating results and expenditure for the 2022 fiscal year for the eight months (October 2021 – May 2022).           On June 16, 2022, Permanent Secretary of Labour, Mr. Boonchob Suttamanaswong, presided over the meeting to clarify Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for preliminary screening to seek indications for persons with reasonable suspicion of being victims of labour exploitation, forced labour, or human trafficking in labour. The meeting took place via electronic media on Zoom at the Saengsingkaew meeting room, 5th floor, Ministry of Labour.           On June 8, 2022, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned the Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-Generals, Mr. Somchai Morakotsriwan, to travel to Suvarnabhumi Airport in Samut Prakan Province to receive the body of Ms. Suparat Nganlasam, a Thai woman who died in an accident after falling from a four-story building in Oman on May 27. According to Ms. Palida Ruamkham, Minister Counselor on Labour at the Royal Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi said that the Labour Office has informed the Royal Thai Embassy in Muscat that the body of the deceased would be delivered yesterday (June 7, 2022) by Oman Air flight WY 817, departing from Muscat at 21.10 hour and arrive in Thailand at Suvarnabhumi Airport today (June 8, 2022) at 06.20 hours.
