Mr. Samat Pattamasukon, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour, announced that the Ministry of Labour is preparing to hold its 32nd anniversary celebration on Tuesday, September 23, at the Ministry of Labour, located on Mitmaitri Road, Din Daeng, Bangkok. The programme will include a ceremony to pay respects to the sacred sites of the Ministry of Labour, a Buddhist chanting ritual, and an alms-offering to monks. In addition, representatives from government agencies, the private sector, labour networks, and the media will be invited to join in extending their congratulations. An exhibition will also be held to showcase the Ministry’s major achievements over the past 32 years. This year, a logo design competition for the 32nd anniversary has also been organised. The ceremony was presided over by Prime Minister Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra and her spouse and took place at the Sanam Luang ceremonial grounds in Bangkok. May 31, 2025 – Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Minister of Labour, shared a media briefing following his response to questions during the House of Representatives budget deliberation on the 2026 Fiscal Year Budget Bill, affirming that he addressed all concerns raised by the opposition with clarity and precision. Mr. Phiphat stated that the increased 2026 Fiscal Year budget allocation for the Ministry of Labour will support key programs under the Department of Skill Development, including procurement of computer and AI systems. These investments are crucial for developing updated training curricula in IT and AI, replacing outdated equipment to align with evolving labour market demands. He added that traditional skill development models no longer match industry needs. April 25, 2025 – The Ministry of Labour continues its second round of inspections on large-scale construction sites. Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Minister of Labour, assigned Mr. Phuchong Worasri, assigned to the Office of the Prime Minister and currently serving at the Ministry of Labour, to launch the safety inspection at the Rama 3–Dao Khanong–Western Outer Ring Expressway Project, Contract 3. Joining the inspection were Captain Saroj Komkai, Director-General of the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare, Mr. Krirkkrai Nasomyont, Legal Advisor, senior executives from the Expressway Authority of Thailand and the Ministry of Labour, and representatives from the Structural Engineers Association of Thailand. Mr. Boonsong Thapchaiyut, the Permanent Secretary of Labour, Lieutenant Commander Saroj Khomkhai, the Director-General of the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare, and the new State Enterprise Labour Relations Committee, which consists of three parties, employers, employees and the government, attended the meeting. The Foreign Workers’ Policy Committee (FWPC) meeting no. 3/2025 resolved to allow workers from the 3 nationalities to return to their country to participate in the Songkran festivities without having to pay a fee for a re-entry permit.
