On December 26, 2020, Deputy Labour Minister Prof. Narumon Pinyosinwat along with General Phum Viphatphumpratet, Member of the House of Representatives Bangkok, Bueng Kum-Kannayao District, and committee, visited the area to give words of encouragement to communities in Nuanchan Market 38 to boost the confidence of the people to purchase goods from the market as usual.
Prof. Narumon said that from the news earlier this week, a woman in the Nuanchan market was infected with Covid-19, causing people to worry and not to shop in Nuanchan Market. The Bueng Kum District Office cleaned up the Nuanchan Market immediately after hearing the news that someone was infected with Covid-19, spraying disinfectant to build confidence among the people to promote shopping, following measures to prevent and control the pandemic. According to the latest Covid-19 test on December 22, 2020, at the Department of Disease Control, Health Office at Nuanchan Market 38, Bueng Kum, no Covid-19 infection was found from a group of 58 people who were tested. Today, the visiting committee, therefore, visited the market to encourage merchants and sellers to boost the people’s confidence to buy things from the market, to show that people can travel and shop as usual.
The Deputy Labour Minister went on to say that the Department of Disease Control confirmed that the virus, including the Covid-19 virus, when it is in the air, mucus, sputum, saliva, and tears, and lasts for only 5 minutes. If it’s on the floor, table, or doorknobs, it can last for only 7-8 hours. When the staff entered to cleaning the area, the market was safe. However, the Covid-19 virus will be with us for a long time. We, therefore, need to adjust to the new normal. If there is a need to leave the house for shopping, we must wear a mask, keep our distance, and wash hands frequently with alcohol. Some activities can shift online instead. The new ways of life will gradually penetrate our daily life little by little and give rise to habits. We will be able to live happily.
“I encourage everyone, including the market vendors and the people of Bueng Kum, and emphasize that when you go out, remember to wear a mask every time and wipe your hands with alcohol often. This will protect you and allow you to live a normal life. Especially today, we have come to Nuanchan Market to boost the people’s confidence that the market is free from Covid-19,” concluded the Deputy Labour Minister.
