Deputy Labour Minister Joins Meeting to Follow up and Expedite Solutions to Claims from the Assembly of the Poor

        On August 9, 2021, Deputy Labour Minister Prof. Narumon Pinyosinwat joined the meeting of the coordinating subcommittee to expedite solutions to the problems of the Assembly of the Poor No. 2/2021, which took place via video conference. The meeting considered the issues that the Assembly of the Poor submitted to the subcommittee to consider expediting a follow-up to resolve the issue as an urgent case.
        Prof. Narumon said that due to the COVID-19 situation, the outbreaks had affected the operations of the subcommittees and working groups involved. Some claims are pending legal issues. In addition, some proposals are policy proposals, which require integration with many departments. Therefore, today’s meeting acknowledged the report on past performance, facts, problems, and obstacles, including expediting a follow-up on the resolutions to issues proposed by the Assembly of the Poor, following the demands submitted to the subcommittee. The output will be the assignment of relevant departments to reach a further resolution.

        The Deputy Labour Minister added that the issues that need to be considered and resolved this time included the problem at Nong Nam Khun Royal Property in Khon Kaen Province, the problem at Don Lak Dam public utility in Khon Kaen Province (the request to expand the electricity and water supply area), and problems of those affected from the action plan to reclaim (recover) mangrove forests following the mangrove forest recovery policy in Surat Thani Province. It also included problems from the announcement of the Kutting Non-Hunting Area in Bueng Kan Province, problems with cutting down rubber trees for new planting in Trang, Phatthalung, and Nakhon Si Thammarat provinces, the request to support the project to correct the impact of government policy and restore the economy and rural communities of the Assembly of the Poor, including the cancellation of the Tha Sae Dam Construction Project in Chumphon Province and the Kaeng Suea Ten Project in Phrae Province. The meeting’s objective was to jointly drive the continuity solution and achieve concrete results as soon as possible for the people to have a better life and get out of poverty.

        “I am ready to perform my assigned duties for the greatest benefit to all parties. If there are operations related to the mission of the Ministry of Labour’s Department of Skill Development, we are ready to support to be a part in continuing to resolve issues around poverty of the people,” concluded the Deputy Labour Minister.
