Deputy Labour Minister Promotes Thailand Together and Accelerates Care for the Elderly and Women

            The Deputy Labour Minister disclosed information to track the movement of Thailand together, emphasizing development which requires cooperation from all sectors and responding to the needs of each area, especially for the elderly and women.

            Deputy Labour Minister Prof. Narumon Pinyosinwat revealed the government’s project to drive Thailand together under the leadership Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha, wanting all sectors to collaborate and integrate. Efforts will be led by the provincial governor as the leader of each province the Minister in charge of each province is responsible for coordinating, advising, and listening to various opinions, problems, obstacles, and proposals for requesting assistance, so that the government can plan and drive together effectively.

            The Deputy Labour Minister went on to say that the Ministry of Labour has the policy to implement several projects, and not only in Nan and Phrae provinces that have been assigned to take care of matters but also to ensure that people can access various services provided by the Ministry of Labour in all provinces where the departments are located. From past visits to Nan and Phrae provinces, they have heard information about how to drive Thailand together, both on the labour situations of the two provinces, labour requirements, and measures to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus, including screening. Efforts also include acceleration from other provincial agencies such as water resources management services and relief projects from droughts and floods during the seasons. It was found that both provinces (Phrae and Nan) still need support for an elderly care training center, to support Thailand’s changing population structure into an aging society. It will also develop skills for the elderly and women to enter the formal employment system or promote career opportunities that are suitable for their age.

            On tourism issues, both provinces have airports. Therefore, it can facilitate tourists looking for ecological tourism and community-based tourism. The provinces, therefore, proposed to support the expansion of areas to increase the safety of airlines in landing their aircraft. The Deputy Labour Minister, who is responsible for the two provinces will receive such information to present to the government for further assistance and support.

            “For the problem of seasonal drought and flooding, the Ministry of Labour’s Department of Skill Development and other relevant departments will work together with the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Royal Irrigation Department, to propose urgent projects such as the skill development project to make water tanks for community use. Furthermore, there is the weir dredging project to minimize the issue of flooding during the rainy season, for example,” concluded the Deputy Labour Minister.
