Today (April 2, 2006) at 10.00 hrs., Mr. Jarin Chakkaphark, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Labor has assigned Mr.Vivat Tanghong, Deputy Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Labor to preside over the forum to exchange opinions on the Safe & Fare project: Realizing women migrant workers’ right and opportunities in the ASEAN region Consultative Dialogue (Awareness on rights of migrant women and opportunities in ASEAN) Legal and policy promotion of migrant workers’ rights at Sixth Floor, Pullman Bangkok King Power.
Today’s forum is organized by the International Labor Office for Asia and the Pacific. Participants included: Government, private sector, and civil society. The seminar aims to provide better protection for migrant workers through the framework of male-female migrant workers management, migrant workers are less vulnerable to violence and human trafficking and benefit from the quality service to meet the needs, make knowledge statistics, the attitude towards the rights, and contributions of female migrant workers improved.
