Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour Commends Mentors for Dedication in Training Labour Volunteers and Supporting The Work to Achieve MOL Goals

The Permanent Secretary of Labour commenced supervisors of labour volunteers for their dedication to serving as a mentor, for advice and assistance in working for volunteers. Their efforts help workers have a stable job and a good quality of life, to fulfill the Ministry of Labour’s missions.
          Today (December 3, 2020) at 13.30 hours, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol presided over the workshop’s opening ceremony for volunteer mentors for 2021. The occasion took place at the Prince Ballroom 3, 11th Floor, Building 1, Prince Palace Hotel, Mahanak, Bangkok. The Permanent Secretary of Labour said, “I would like to express my appreciation to the mentors, volunteers, and workers who have dedicated themselves are a mentor and adviser, to assist in performing work for the volunteers in various fields. Their efforts help the Ministry of Labour to achieve success. Labor volunteers are an important mechanism that drives the Ministry of Labour’s mission to the people in the area. Therefore, it is expected that the volunteer mentor will bring knowledge and the experiences gained from this exchange of knowledge to drive the work of labour volunteers to be sustainable and efficient, to meet the needs of the people and the community to continue to improve work even more.
          In addition, the Ministry of Labour sees the importance of the development of mentors for labour volunteers to have the potential to support the work according to the Ministry of Labour’s policy for 2021. It is expected that each provincial labor office, which is the agency responsible for the labour volunteer work, will bring the results from this seminar to develop overall labour volunteer work together with the agencies under the Ministry of Labour in the region, to plan the performance and integrate labour missions. Their work helps workers to be stable in their work and to have a good quality of life, together with achieving the mission of the Ministry of Labour. It is hoped that everyone who has joined the seminar today will allow everyone to get to know the direction of the work of labour volunteers in 2021 and can be applied to benefit themselves and volunteer work in the area in the future.”
          The integrative workshop for labour volunteer mentors aims to increase the potential of mentoring staff within the Provincial Labour Offices to be effective mentors for labour volunteers and share knowledge, experiences, and guidelines for managing them in 2021. The seminar was attended by 115 people, consisting of mentors, volunteers, and workers in related networks across the 76 provinces, including central staff, speakers, government officials, staff, and observers.
