In the National Vocational Training Coordination Committee (NVTCC), Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan assigned the Ministry of Labour to work with all sectors in driving labour development through the mechanisms of the various subcommittee on labour development and national vocational training coordination to develop the country’s manpower in the same direction.
On February 10, 2021, at the meeting room on the 5th floor, Department of Labour Protection and Welfare, Ministry of Labour Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan chaired the National Vocational Training Coordination Committee (NVTCC) meeting No. 2/2021. Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin, Deputy Labour Minister Prof. Narumon Pinyosinwat, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol, and the Ministry of Labour’s executives, together with public and private agencies, also joined the meeting. General Prawit said that the National Vocational Training Coordination Committee or the NVTCC could formulate policies and guidelines for labour development and coordinate the vocational training for the people in the country’s workforce. Therefore, the NVTCC’s operations are extremely important for developing a human resource ecosystem to support future industries and services, including the development of a people-centered country following the national strategy. The NVTCC’s operations cover the development of manpower in all dimensions according to that objective. It must rely on various subcommittees’ operating mechanisms to drive policies and guidelines for manpower development on important issues for tangible results. The previous meeting had approved the appointment of four sub-committees. Therefore, all directors were invited to attend today’s meeting to consider and comment on relevant parts to keep the NVTCC’s operations at maximum efficiency and effectiveness. The meeting also considered ways to drive the development of manpower in the logistics and aviation industry and requested to review the resolutions of the first National Vocational Training Coordination Committee (NVTCC) meeting no. 1/2021 regarding the draft order on the appointment of the Provincial Labour Development and Vocational Training Coordination Subcommittee, the draft order to on the appointment of a Subcommittee on Labour Development and Coordination of Occupational Training in target or S-curve industries, the draft order of appointment of a Subcommittee on Skill Development for Persons with Disabilities to Support Careers and the draft an order appointing the Skill Development Subcommittee for the state welfare cardholders.
“This meeting will result in the national manpower development, promoting Thai workers to have higher potential and professional skills. The efforts will increase the competitiveness of the country. The NVTCC’s operations could happen without the relevant agencies’ cooperation in driving labour development policies and guidelines for success. Therefore, I ask that every agency continue to integrate into such work for the benefit of the people,” concluded General Prawit.
