Find another! South Korea’s smuggling of patients with hepatitis needs help to return to Thailand

          Mr. Anurak Tossarat was promoted to Director General of the Department of Employment, The Ministry of Labor has revealed that the Department of Employment has reported that Thai female workers who are domiciled in Lamphun illegally work in South Korea by paying 35,000 baht to the recruiter. She went to work at a glove factory and intends to work for 90 days and then returns to Thailand, but she is suffering from hepatitis and needs treatment at a hospital in South Korea. The new liver transplantation, which costs up to 75,000,000 won or about 2,000.00 baht, the family has no money to treat, and sleep unconscious in the hospital. The medical expenses are not less than 5,300,000 won, or about 158,000 baht. The Department of Employment has instructed the Lamphun Employment Office to visit the families of the workers in the area to inquire the facts and provide advice on how to coordinate with the concerned agencies.

          From the incident, The Department of Employment will remind the job seekers to go to work without the proper procedures of the Employment Department to know the consequences of going on the job.

          If an illness or problem, Thai government agencies in such countries will not be able to know the information of Thai workers, such as their residence, work place, or to get help. There are no benefits and medical fees from employers seeking employment as well. Therefore, please go to work legally and contact the Department of Employment before deciding.
