“Gen. Adu” went to Ranong to prepare to open OSS to support the import of migrant workers in MOU.

            August 20, 2018 H.E. Police General Adul Sangsingkeo, Minister of Labor went to Ranong to visit the OSS to hear the conclusion of the OSS operation, the government emphasized the need to address the shortage of fishery workers. The extension of expired foreign workers who are permitted to work under section 83 of the Fisheries Certificate BE 2558, which has passed the nationality verification, shall be extended for a period of 2 years to 30 September 2020, which shall be allowed for one year at a time. Foreign workers are allowed to stay in the Kingdom. From August 20 to September 30, 2018 at the One Stop Service Center, 22 provinces in the province or the appropriate place in each province. The OSS includes Immigration Services (VISA), Department of Employment, Work Permit and Department of Fisheries. Seabook is provided by the OSS Center in Ranong, Ranong Fishing Club, Moo 1, Pak Nam Subdistrict, Mueang District, Ranong Province, there are foreign workers who are permitted to stay in the Kingdom and get permission to work under Section 83 of the Fisheries Act 2015, which proved citizenship. The 124 OSS applicants have to renew their work permit. Ranong has a shortage of 1,163 fish workers, 60 employers, and inspectors working in the boat control center of Ranong (PIPO). Ranong has 42,372 foreign workers. There are 122 skilled workers, 42,250 unskilled workers, 34 MOU importers, 19,294 naturalized people, 16,646 pink cards, 621 minority people and Round-the-clock or seasonal, 5,655 people. There are 4,630 workers in the sea fishing industry, 975 Thai laborers and 3,655 foreign workers (7 Lao, 4 Cambodian, 3 Myanmar, 599 people, and 45 minorities). 236 marine fisheries employers have 3,655 workers who had retinal scans.

           In addition, the Minister of Labor has also prepared the opening of the center to accommodate the importation of Myanmar workers into the MOU. The center will provide training for various fields. The examination and screening of migrant workers that the real employer meets the employment contract and is ready to work before the permission to work in Thailand. It also coordinates, provides assistance and facilitates employers and migrant workers with the implementation of the contract. The first center in Ranong province is located at 89/227 Moo 1, Tambon Pak Nam, Amphoe Mueang, Ranong province, providing support to foreign workers in training and issue Electronic Workpermits (E-Workpermit) about 1,200 people per day. Gen. Adul reminded the employer to take the foreign workers to work on the date of the labor to live and work in Thailand and receive further benefits and protection under the law.
