On August 27, 2018, H.E. Police General Adul Saengsiewkaew, Minister of Labour, gave a speech on behalf of the Thai youth delegation participating in the 12th ASEAN Skill Workers’ Ceremony, at the Reception Room of the 6th Floor, Ministry of Labour. Gen. Adul said that on behalf of the government and the Prime Minister, they were very pleased and proud. We have a chance to meet with representatives of Thailand to participate in the 12th ASEAN Workers’ Skill Competition at IMPACT Exhibition Center, Muang Thong Thani, Pakkred Nonthaburi During August 31, 2018 – September 2, 2018, all Thai delegates participating in this competition showed their full potential, their ability to be recognized internationally to bring Thailand’s reputation and upgrade their skills and a model for later generations. It also develops its own skills to raise the status of the country’s economy and society in accordance with government policies. It also increases the competitiveness of the country as well.
For the ASEAN Workers’ Competitions, the ASEAN Member States will rotate to host the event every two years and will be included as part of the Human Resources Development Plan under the ASEAN Socio Cultural Community Blueprint aims to encourage close cooperation between government agencies, industries, employers, and employees to develop quality workforce and create ASEAN as a regional cooperative. “This competition is a great gathering of talented youngsters and is the biggest tournament in Southeast Asia, aiming to reflect the skills of young people in the region and development is progressing in accordance with international standards. The result is not as important as the experience gained to lead and further develop themselves. The Thai people ask for encouragement for all contestants. Let’s do your best,” the Ministry of Labour said.
