On September 11, 2018, H. E. Police General Adul Sangsingkeo, Minister of Labour, presided over the press conference of the “Nakhon Phanom – Kammuon Marathon Crossing the Mekong River”. Amphoe Mueang Nakhon Phanom, Nakhon Phanom Province Mr. Somchai Witdhamrong, the governor of Nakhon Phanom province, Mr. Trakul Arnut, Tourism and Sports Authority of Nakhonphanom, Ms. Supaporn Niramankan, Chairman of Sri Kotbul Foundation, Mrs. Apinya Chompoomat, Social Development and Human Security of Nakhon Phanom Province, and Mr. Monchai Dejapol, Laborer of Nakhon Phanom Province joined in with this.
The “Nakorn Phanom – Khammuon Marathon Crossing Mekong 2018” is a collaboration between Nakhon Phanom and the Tourism Authority of Thailand. The event will be held on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at the starting point to reach the end of Friendship Bridge 3 (Nakhon Phanom – Khamung), Lao PDR (round trip) to encourage youth and people of all ages to be active in sports and fitness regularly. The youth, the people, the handicapped and the elderly in Nakhon Phanom and in the country have experience in marathon with the people using the sport for tourism, knowledge and knowledge that the youth aware of the value of using their free time to benefit and a better quality of life for themselves and society.
There are 6 types of marathon: the 42.19 km, the application fee is 600 Baht, the mini marathon is 10.5 km, the application fee is 300 Baht, the fun-run is 5 km, the application fee is 200 Baht, Walking-Running for Health 3.0 km, the application fee is 200 Baht, Walking -Running for disabilities is free of charge, and VIP is 1,000 Baht. All applicants will receive the shirt and medal upon entering the finish line. There are trophies and prizes for each type of winner from Minister of Labor, Minister of Tourism and Sports, Governor of Nakhon Phanom.
