“Gen. Adul” revealed that Thailand – Myanmar negotiated the cooperation of fishing workers in the sea, according to MOU.

          On August 17th, H.E. Police General Adul Sangsingkeo, Minister of Labor, discussed the outcome of the meeting with H.E.U Thein Swe, Minister of Labor Immigration and population of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar at the meeting room, 5th Floor, Ministry of Labor that on August 16 pas the Labor Minister, along with Mr. Jarin Chakkaphark, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Labor, Mr. Anurak Tossarat, Director General of the Department of Employment and the delegation traveled to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to discuss the issue of labor relations with H.E.U Thein Swe Minister of Labor Immigration and Population of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar at the Ministry of Labor Immigration and population of Naypyidaw, Republic of the Union of Myanmar from the negotiation, the MPC agreed to import labor from the MOU from Myanmar. Thailand will resume work permits granted under Section 83 of the Fisheries Act BE 2558, which has passed the nationality verification for another 2 years until September 30, 2020. The permit will be granted for one year each. Foreign workers are allowed to stay in the Kingdom. The operation will begin from August 20 – September 30, 2018 at the One Stop Service Center of the Provincial Employment Office of 22 coastal provinces.

 


          For workers who are holding passports, temporary passports, identity documents, travel documents, the document will remain valid for at least 90 days. It will be proposed to the National Committee for Labor Remedies and Labor Human Trafficking Policy for consideration and approval before submission to the Cabinet for consideration and approval for the foreigners to be in the Kingdom and consider issuing the Notification of the Prime Minister to work under Section 83 of the Fisheries Code, BE 2558.
         Minister of Labor added that Thai delegation will send an envoy to take care of the workers in Thailand. He also emphasized that the training of educated workers in Myanmar about the law of culture in Thailand before coming to work in Thailand. This is to prevent misunderstandings, misbehavior, and compliance with international standards. The Myanmar side praised Thai government for organizing the work of foreign workers legally.
