On June 19, 2019, at 04.30 hours, the Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-General Mr. Somsak Apiwantanakul together with the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare’s Inspector-General Mr. Anan Bowornaorak traveled to visit and boost the morale of staff of the Provincial Employment Office and Labour Protection and Welfare Office in Nakhon Si Thammarat, while working at the Port In – Port Out Controlling Center (PIPO) at the Donsak Forward Inspection Point (FIP in Nakhon Si Thammarat. This visit did not find any fishing boat owners in violation of the Fisheries Act or Foreign Workers and Labour Protection Act. The workers in fishing were aware of their duties, devoting time at risk in the late night. Officers from the two departments praised the workers and boat owners who contributed to the unlocking of Thailand IUU’s yellow card status, to the protection of fishing workers at the C188 standard, respectively. On June 18, 2019, at 16.30 hours, the visiting committee visited and received a briefing on the mission of the FIP Center in Khanom district, and was welcomed by the center’s hear, Colonel Nuttapol Sinpoonpol.
