Insured Persons Glad For PM Instructions for Labour Minister to Remedy Workers and Employers with Over 9 Bn Baht

          On September 30, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin spoke about the progress of the governments remedy payments to workers and businesses in the 29 provinces dark red provinces, namely Bangkok, Nakhon Pathom, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Samut Prakan, Samut Sakhon, Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat, Songkhla, Chonburi, Chachoengsao, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Kanchanaburi, Samut Songkhram, Suphan Buri, Phetchaburi, Rayong, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Nakhon Ratchasima, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Ratchasima, Phetchabun, and Tak, to manage the COVID-19 pandemic following the CCSA’s measures. The Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha is concerned for the workers and businesses affected by COVID-19. Therefore, the Ministry of Labour’s Social Security Office was assigned to implement a remedy program for employers and insured persons under Sections 33, 39, and 40. From the beginning of the month to September 28, 2021, the Ministry of Labour’s Social Security Office (SSO) has transferred money to eligible persons’ PromptPay accounts linked to their ID card numbers. The effort has assisted employers and insured persons under all 3 Sections, already injecting over 90 billion Baht in the economy for over 150,000 employers and almost 12 million insured persons under Sections 33, 39, and 40. The remaining 400,000 insured persons and over 2,100 employers have not received payments as their accounts were not linked to PromptPay or their PromptPay account was not linked with an ID card number, for example, people in bankruptcy or whose accounts have been frozen from the Legal Execution Department or is a person with a disability. Additional remedies are currently in process.
          Mr. Suchart has instructed the Social Security Office to speed up public relations for insured persons who have not yet received the remedies, encouraging them to tie their PromptPay accounts to their ID cards. He also reminded employers to notify their employees to immediately link the PromptPay bank account with the national ID number to receive compensation benefits from the government.
