            On November 17, 2018, Prime Minister’s Secretariat to the Ministry of Labour Ms. Anusee Tubsuwan (advisor to the Ministry of Labour) alongside Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour and acting Director of the Department of Employment Mrs. Petcharat Sinauy visited Tak to observe training under the project to train the elderly, promoting occupational opportunities in herbal products production. The training took place at the Mae Sot Office of Skill Development Area 2, Tak Special Economic Zone building, Mae Sot, Tak.
           Prime Minister’s Secretariat to the Ministry of Labour Ms. Anusee Tubsuwan (advisor to the Ministry of Labour), said that Labour Minister H.E. Police General Adul Sangsingkeo had policies emphasizing the promotion of employment and life quality for the elderly. The elderly workers’ training program to increase occupational opportunities is a response to such policy, promoting occupational activities for the elderly to take advantage of their time, skills, readiness and interest. The objective of the program is to allow the elderly to develop their careers and work independently to create jobs and sustainable income, promoting self-care and supporting the increasing population of the elderly in the future. The training was held from 14 to 18 November 2018, with 20 elderly participants, located in Moo 11, Mae Kasa, Mae Sot, Tak.
           Deputy Permanent Secretary of Labour and acting Director of the Department of Employment Mrs. Petcharat Sinauy said that the Department of Employment will work together with the Department of Skill Development in product development and packaging and seek new markets for the elderly to sell products. This will enable them to build a career and income for stability, prosperity and sustainability, in line with government policy.
