Labour Leaders Cheer on the Labour Minister to Continue the Ministry of Labour’s Work

The Labour Minister confirmed to spend the remaining time in his position to do the best for the workforce, ensuring agencies under the Ministry of Labour work proactively. He assigned the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare and related agencies to consider urgent action on workers’ demands.
          The Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, revealed that today (January 13, 2023), the Chairman of the Automobile Labour Congress of Thailand, Mr. Manit Promkarikul, led automotive workers of Thailand, the Private Industrial Labour Council, the Employers’ Confederation of Thailand, and staff from the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA), to meet and give new year wishes to the Labour Minister as encouragement, requesting him to continue the work of the Ministry of Labour. For example, the three requests measure (request for selection, request for recovery, and request for return) of the Social Security Office, mortgage loans for insured persons, under section 33, finding employment markets outside the country, the “thaimeengantum” platform, vocational training for independent workers, and the protection of workers both in and outside the system. As the Labour Minister, he has pushed the Ministry of Labour’s work so that all workers have a better quality of life. The Ministry of Labour is prepared to care for and support all workers with great determination. As for the demands of workers from all groups, the Ministry of Labour would proceed with the relevant processes as soon as possible. The Labour Minister assigned the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare to consider taking urgent action on the demands of the labour leaders.
          Mr. Suchart continued to thank the workers who visited to wish him new year blessings today. He confirmed that he would use the remaining time in his position to work fully for the workforce to the best of his ability as the Labour Minister. He also instructed agencies under the Ministry of Labour to perform their duties fully, following the responsibilities of each agency for the better quality of life of workers. He emphasized that he would not leave his fellow workers behind. All workers are regarded as a driving force for the country, which is extremely important, and he is happy to take care of all workers. He said that he is prepared to support workers fully if they face any labor issues. The Ministry of Labour is committed to supporting all worker groups to have protection and be treated fairly according to their legal rights, consistent with human rights principles.
          The Chairman of the Automobile Labour Congress of Thailand, Mr. Manit Promkarikul, said that on behalf of labour leaders, he thanked the Labour Minister for driving the work for the workforce in 2022. He is considered an important person for all the workers and a key part of pushing for various policies, allowing the workers to feel the Labour Minister’s sincerity and care for the workforce. He said he was impressed that the Labour Minister is always by his side. Every time workers face various labour problems, the Labour Minister is always willing to lend a hand to help. From the first day, the Labour Minister took the position until today, he has continuously promoted the development of legal potential and created new achievements. He wished that the Labour Minister could come back and continue his work and that the labour leaders would always support him.
