Labour Minister and Deputy Labour Minister Visit DSD to Drive Proactive Missions

          The Labour Minister visited the Department of Skill Development to follow up on the “create, elevate and give; uniting Thailand to build a nation.” He emphasized integrating the five labour leaders and proactive work, following up on employment results, and increased income after training.

          On November 13, 2020, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin and Deputy Labour Minister Prof. Narumon Pinyosinwat joined the Department of Skill Development visit to follow up on operations as assigned. Assistant to the Labour Minister Mr. Surachai Chaitrakulthong, Advisor to the Labour Minister Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan, the Labour Minister’s Secretariat Mr. Suthep Chitayavong, Permanent Secretary of Labour Mr. Suthi Sukosol and the Ministry of Labour’s executives also joined the visit at the Pakorn Angsusingh meeting room, 10th floor, Ministry of Labour.

          Mr. Suchart said that in the country’s crisis that we are facing now, including the Covid-19 situation, rapid change in technology, labour mobility and demographic, social and cultural structural changes, these have directly affected the workforce and the world of work. As such, it is essential to the Ministry of Labour’s government officials at all levels, both in the central and provincial regions, to work harder together, to quickly solve problems that arise. Therefore, he asked all government officials at all levels to make an action plan for clarity and success and to work proactively in keeping with the situation and applying digital technology.

          Prof. Narumon said that meeting with the Department of Skill Development’s (DSD) executives attended this meeting, she has emphasized the effect of work efficiency. The goal is to develop skills that result in the employment of the workforce to promote income. She also followed up on the operational results to drive skill development policies under the three concepts, “create, elevate and give; uniting Thailand to build a nation.” The policy aims to join relevant parties to solve problems quickly, meet labour demands, and build on sustainability. The Department of Employment has implemented a project to prepare workers for a career, have a sustainable income, and create a quality workforce through intensive operations to raise the Ministry of Labour’s level from the “Ministry of Social Affairs” to be a “Ministry of Economy.” The missions focus on emphasizing the integration of cooperation between departments within the Ministry, with a mission to link together and integrate with the government and private sectors.
