Labour Minister Assigns Advisor to Award Outstanding Establishments in Petchaburi to Encourage Employers to Have Good Labour Relations Systems and Employee Welfare

          On September 13, 2022, the Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, assigned the Labour Minister’s Advisor, Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan, to preside over the opening ceremony of the workshop to strengthen the labour protection network in Phetchaburi Province, and the award ceremony for the Outstanding Establishment in Labour Relations and Welfare for 2022. The Department of Labour Protection and Welfare’s Inspector-General, Ms. Preyanan Likhitsan, Khao Yoi District Deputy, Mr. Pornsak Hunkree, Head of the Nong Chumphon Nuea Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Mr. Boonlert Yodkaew, and heads of government agencies under the Ministry of Labour in Phetchaburi Province participated in the occasion. The event took place in the meeting room of the Nong Chumphon Nuea Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Khao Yoi District, Phetchaburi Province.
          Mrs. Thiwalrat said that the Ministry of Labour, under the supervision of Deputy Prime Minister and Acting Prime Minister, General Prawit Wongsuwan, and the Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin, gives importance to the management of labour with social responsibility and following international labour standards in terms of having a good labour relations system, and welfare arrangements other than those prescribed as a standard by the law. It focuses on ensuring that all Thai and foreign workers are entitled to legal privileges, have access to social services, and have comprehensive protection. As a result, workers have stability and good quality of life, resulting in improved trade competitiveness.
          Mrs. Thiwalrat continued that today, the Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, assigned her to commence the workshop to strengthen the labour protection network of Phetchaburi Province and the award ceremony for the Outstanding Establishment in Labour Relations and Welfare. She congratulated the organizations awarded the Outstanding Establishment in Labour Relations and Welfare and wished for each organization that received the award to maintain its status with sustainable and excellent labour management systems and to be a good role model for other business establishments.
          The Phetchaburi Provincial Office of Labour Protection and Welfare organized the workshop. The objective is to strengthen labour relations through bilateral systems and to incentivize employers to develop standardized labour welfare arrangements in their workplaces. It encourages employees to have a good quality of life, building morale, cooperation, and unity in work. It is also an honorary award given to establishments that can manage labour relations and welfare following the established rules, being a good model for other organizations to develop. This year, six organizations were awarded, including Ek-Chai Distribution System Co., Ltd. Tha Yang Town Branch, which was awarded the Honourary Award for Outstanding Establishment in Labour Relations and Welfare 2022, National Level, for the 10th and 14th year, in the no labour union category, small business establishments. CRC Thai Watsadu Co., Ltd. Cha-am Branch was awarded the Honourary Award for Outstanding Establishment in Labour Relations and Welfare 2022, National Level, for the 5th and 9th year, in the no labour union category, small business establishments. Siam Makro PCL, Phetchaburi Branch, Nanyang Industries Co., Ltd., and Nanyang Textile Group Co., Ltd., were awarded the Honourary Award for Outstanding Establishment in Labour Relations and Welfare 2022, National Level, for the 1st and 4th year, in the no labour union category, small business establishments.
