Labour Minister Assigns Advisor to Petchaburi to Monitor Progress on Proactive Covid-19 Screening in Workplaces

          Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned his Advisor to visit Petchaburi to follow up on the progress of the proactive Covid-19 screening in the workplace into the treatment process as required by the Ministry of Public Health.

          On January 26, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned Advisor to the Labour Minister Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan to visit Petchaburi to monitor progress on the proactive Covid-19 screening in workplaces in the province, following the Labour Minister’s policy. The occasion took place at the King Mongkut’s Hospital, Phetchaburi. The Labour Minister’s Advisor said that the government, under the leadership of Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha, and the Ministry of Labour under the supervision of Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan, has concerns for the workforce and all groups of people, and has continued to implement government measures. For the Ministry of Labour, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin has policies to work with relevant sectors and agencies in the area, including medical teams, health workers, and hospitals in the Social Security Office, to visit workplaces and provide Covid-19 screening for employees exposed to the risk of infections in establishments. Employees who are screened will know the results within 6-8 hours. If an infection is detected, the worker will have to go into the treatment process determined by the Ministry of Public Health.

          Mrs. Thiwalrat said that today, she was assigned by Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin to visit Phetchaburi province to monitor the proactive Covid-19 screening progress for workers in the workplace at King Mongkut’s Hospital, Phetchaburi. The initiative has received good cooperation from employers and workers in the workplace. This is considered integration of collaboration between the Phetchaburi Provincial Social Security Office and hospitals in the network. The measures are performed following those prescribed by the Ministry of Public Health and the Provincial Communicable Disease Committee. If the situation is controlled within the province faster, the pandemic’s spread will be contained better.
