Content Description

On August 13, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned the Ministry of Labour’s Advisor, Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan, the Ministry of Labour’s Spokesperson Mr. Prateep Songlamyong as the Ministry of Labour’s spokesperson, and the Ministry of Labour’s Inspector-General, Ms. Bubpha Rueangsud, to visit the COVID-19 vaccination service for insured persons in the Bangkok area at the vaccination facility in Central Rama 9 and ShowDC. The sites are under the supervision of the Bangkok Social Security Office Area 3, with the capacity to vaccinate 1,500 people daily at each site. The facility is supported by doctors, nurses, and pharmacists from Paolo Chokchai 4 Hospital and Vichaivej International Hospital. Mrs. Thiwalrat said that the government under the leadership of Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha, and Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan, who oversees the Ministry of Labour, is concerned about the workforce and the general public amid the COVID-19 situation, promoting vaccinations as a national agenda. The Labour Minister assigned the Social Security Office to work with the Ministry of Interior, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, the Ministry of Public Health by the National Health Security Office (NHSO), the Ministry of Finance by Krung Thai Bank, and public and private social security networked hospitals to provide COVID-19 vaccinations to insured persons. The initiative aims to control the outbreak’s spread from spreading to a wide area in factories and establishments. Initially, vaccinations were arranged for Section 33 insured in Bangkok. The two vaccination centers opened for services from July 22 to August 13, 2021, to vaccinate 1,500 people daily, which are insured persons who are registered via the e-service system. From July 22 to August 13, 2021, 21,555 people have been vaccinated. Both facilities started to provide the second dose of vaccinations to insured persons from August 16 to 27, 2021.

“Today, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned my team and me to visit the COVID-19 vaccination services for those Section 33 insured persons at Central Rama 9 and ShowDC. Each of the facilities has the capacity to vaccine 1,500 people daily. The visit also included encouraging medical personnel administering the COVID-19 vaccinations to Section 33 insured persons. It is one of the Ministry of Labour’s measures on prevention and treatment, by expediting vaccinations to insured people following government policy to control the spread of COVID-19 and build immunity among the workers for businesses to move forward,” concluded Mrs. Thiwalrat.
