Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned the Assistant to the Labour Minister to commence the training following the needs of Koh Sichang, Chonburi, to promote occupational development for informal workers to have more income stimulate the economy at the community level.
On December 14, 2020, at 10.00 hours, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned Assistant to the Labour Minister Mr. Surachai Chaitrakulthong to preside over the opening ceremony for training according to the needs of the area in Koh Sichang, Chonburi. The Chonburi Skill Development Institute 3 organized the training in collaboration with the Koh Si Chang Subdistrict Municipality to promote informal workers’ occupational development in Koh Si Chang district. The training is conducted in three branches and six batches, including three batches in local assistant guides, two batches in community souvenir product making, and one batch in boat engine maintenance. There are 20 trainees in each batch for a total of 120 trainees. Deputy Governor of Chonburi Mr. Thawatchai Srithong gave a welcoming at the multipurpose building in Koh Sichang Municipality Government Center, Koh Sichang, Chonburi.
The Labour Minister’s Assistant said the Ministry of Labour could promote employment both at home and abroad. Enhancing potential among workers and operators to become a quality workforce to keep up with technological changes is in line with the country’s development to protect and promote workers to have stability and good quality of life. Therefore, all sectors must cooperate to drive the skill development policy to lead to concrete outcomes and respond to the needs of the nation’s economic development, corresponding to the rapidly changing situation.
“I am delighted that the Ministry of Labour has contributed to the development of informal workers in the area of Koh Si Chang district by organizing additional training, knowledge, skills, and increasing career opportunities for people to have jobs and more income. The initiative contributes to stimulating the economy at the community level and promotes the philosophy of a sufficiency economy which affects the long-term quality of life of workers and their families,” concluded Mr. Surachai.
