Labour Minister Assigns Assistant to Deliver Address to Thai Workers Preparing for Work in Israel’s Agriculture Sector

          On January 9, 2023, the Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, assigned the Assistant to the Labour Minister, Mr. Surachai Chaitrakulthong, to give an address to build morale for Thai workers preparing to travel to work in the agricultural sector in Israel, under the Thailand-Israel Cooperation for the Placement of Workers (TIC). The Department of Employment’s Director-General, Mr. Pairoj Chotiksetian, gave a report. The occasion took place at the training room for job seekers preparing the travel abroad, 11th floor, Bangkok Social Security Office, Area 3.
          In 2022, the Department of Employment sent 7,916 Thai workers to work in the agricultural sector in Israel. From this number, 7,753 were men, and 163 were women. In 2023, the Israeli Population and Immigration Authority (PIBA) notified the temporary employment quota for 6,500 Thai workers in the agricultural sector in Israel. Today, there was a training for 97 Thai workers preparing to travel to work in the agricultural sector in Israel, divided into 94 men and three women. They are scheduled to travel on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, on El Al Israel Airlines.
