Labour Minister Assigns General Nantachat to Visit the Area to Prevent Illegal Foreign Workers and COVID-19

          Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned Major General Nantachat Supamongkol from the Office of the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, performing duties for the Ministry of Labour, to visit, inspect and advise employers on employing foreign workers in the workplace legally, to prevent illegal immigration and the spread of COVID-19.
          On June 22, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned Pol. Maj. Gen. Nantachat Supamongkol from the Office of the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, performing duties for the Ministry of Labour to visit the area with the security task force and related agencies to check and advise employers on legally employing foreign workers to prevent illegal immigration and the spread of COVID-19. The visit took place at the construction site of Sai Mai Mall, Sai Mai District, Bangkok, which complies with the orders of Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha, who ordered the Ministry of Labour to work with security, military, police, and administrative departments as one, to strictly control, monitor, prevent and suppress illegal immigration, as well as to control the situation following measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 within workplaces.
          Pol. Maj. Gen. Nantachat Supamongkol from the Office of the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, performing duties for the Ministry of Labour, said that today, he was assigned by Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin to visit the area to inspect the employment of foreign workers to prevent illegal immigration and the spread of COVID-19, following government policy. The inspection of foreign workers found seven cases of offenders without valid work and residence permits to stay in the Kingdom of Thailand. The relevant parties will be taken to legal proceedings. If anyone sees an offense involving illegal immigrant workers, please promptly report the clues to the officers immediately as another channel to prevent and stop the spread of COVID-19.
