Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned the Secretariat to the Labour Minister to commence the Bangkok Job Fair 2021. The event has over 40 leading organizations joining with recruitment booths, with over 5,000 vacancies. The event is scheduled from March 26 to 27 at Fortune Street, Fortune Town Shopping Center.
On March 26, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned the Labour Minister’s Secretariat Mr. Suthep Chitvong presided over the opening ceremony of Bangkok Job Fair 2021 at Fortune Street, Fortune Town Shopping Center, Bangkok. The Labour Minister’s Secretariat said that the government, under the leadership of Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha, and the Ministry of Labour, under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan, has given priority to solving unemployment from the impact of Covid-19. Today, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin intends to organize the Bangkok Job Fair 2021 for those who did not apply for a job at Job Expo Thailand 2020 at the end of last year. The event gives people the opportunity to apply for a job to mitigate the effects of Covid-19 and reduce unemployment by promoting employment opportunities for those who are unemployed, laid-off, and affected by Covid-19, and for all Thai people who wish to find work. The event hosts activities to increase job opportunities with many employers/companies directly. It enhances the opportunity to select job vacancies that match jobseekers’ knowledge and abilities. Forty leading organizations joined with recruitment booths, offering over 5,000 vacancies.
Mr. Suthep added that today’s events are in line with government policy, as a guide to action by focusing on responding to the national strategy of balancing and developing the public administration system by developing workers following the labour market’s needs. The event enables the working-age people to choose opportunities following their knowledge and aptitude, raising the level of workers from labourers to become workers of brainpower, with easier access to sources of funding, innovation, technology, and information. Efforts promote workers to have the skills, a career, a stable and sustainable income. He, therefore, invited job seekers, people looking for ideas to further their career, and all interested parties to attend the event on Friday 26th and Saturday 27th, March 2021, from 09.00 hours to 16.30 hours at the Fortune Street area (in front of the building), Fortune Town Shopping Center, Bangkok. The Ministry of Labour’s Department of Employment organized a labour meeting with 40 leading employers/organizations joining the recruitment. Organizations include CP Land, Central Restaurants Group, The Minor Food Group, Ekachai Distributions System (Lotus), Thai Nam Thip, Charoen Pokphand Foods, True Corporation, and CP All. The organizations that are open for applications are from retail, production of print media, construction and real estate, food and beverages, financial services, good transportation, and public transport. There are over 5,000 job vacancies for workers of all levels of study. Interesting positions include civil engineers, architects, drawing assistants, store managers, accountants, administrative officers, service staff, and general staff (production department). Vacancies are separated into 2,106 positions requiring a bachelor’s degree, 461 positions requiring vocational diplomas, 179 positions requiring vocational certificates, and 2,842 requiring grade 9 or below. The event also includes demonstrations of self-employment with ten jobs per day, totaling 20 jobs, and showcasing self-employment in the form of food trucks, totaling four trucks.
The organization of the event aims to provide job seekers with maximum comfort and benefit. Those who attend the job can apply for a job in just three steps: 1. Select the company they want 2. Scan the QR code 3. Select a job title and fill in personal information. The employer/organization will receive the information, and job applicants can be interviewed with employers/organizations immediately. The event is organized in the center of the city that is easy to commute to. Fortune Town Shopping Center is located at Rama 9 intersection, next to Grand Mercure Fortune Hotel and Tesco Lotus, accessible by private car, the subway (MRT) at Rama 9 Station Exit 1 or BTS Skytrain to Victory Monument Station, take a bus or air-conditioned van on the Minburi – Victory Monument route (down in front of MCOT), or get off at Asoke station and take the subway to Rama 9 Station Exit 1. Attendees can also travel by air-conditioned vans on the Saphan Mai – MCOT., Ngamwongwan – MCOT, Min Buri – Monument routes (down in front of MCOT) or travel by bus numbers 172, 98, 171, 36, 73, 73 Kor, 137, 168, 204, 206, 514, 517, 528 and 529.
