Labour Minister Assigns Spokesperson to Deliver Relief Bags to Support Flood Victims and Encourage Labour Volunteers in Nakhon Pathom

          On October 28, 2021, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned the Labour Minister’s Advisor, Mrs. Thiwalrat Angkinan, and the Ministry of Labour’s Spokesperson (on politics), Mrs. Theanrat Nawamawat, to visit the area to provide relief bags and drinking water to people affected by the flood. The first stop was at the Community Hall, Moo 4, Lam Phaya Subdistrict, Bang Len District, Nakhon Pathom Province, where they delivered 200 relief bags and 3,000 drinking water bottles. The second point was at Wat Tai Yawat, Tai Yawat Subdistrict, Nakhon Chai Si District, Nakhon Pathom Province, where they delivered 230 relief bags and 3,000 drinking water bottles. Deputy Governor of Nakhon Pathom Province Mr. Apinan Phuakphong reported on the water situation and led the group onto a barge to deliver survival bags and drinking water to the flood victims at their houses. Community leaders, local government organizations, and heads of government agencies under the Ministry of Labour in Nakhon Pathom Province also joined the event. On this occasion, the committee encouraged the labour volunteers in Nakhon Pathom province who came to welcome and help the flood victims. The labour volunteers have a mission to coordinate labour services in the area, to provide people with jobs, skills, careers, and income, and ensure they are protected and have sustainable social security as well. Mrs. Thiwalrat said that Prime Minister and Minister of Defense General Prayuth Chan-ocha and the Ministry of Labour under the supervision of Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan are concerned about the people affected by the flood situation. Therefore, he instructed all agencies to help the flood victims according to their mission. Today, Labour Minister Mr. Suchart Chomklin assigned her and the spokesperson to visit Nakhon Pathom Province to deliver the relief bags and drinking water to alleviate the suffering of flood-affected community members.
          Mrs. Thiwalrat continued that after the water recedes, the Ministry of Labour agencies in each area will work together to provide support. The Provincial Employment Office will provide employment and occupational promotion services. The Provincial Labour Office will organize an urgent employment and skill development project, support compensation, and provide professional training materials for continuous income. The Provincial Labour Protection and Welfare Office will provide advice on rights under the labour protection laws. Additionally, the Provincial Social Security Office will take care of benefits for the victims according to their social security rights. It will organize a team of doctors and nurses from hospitals in the network to provide initial care services in the affected areas.
