Content Description

On January 14, 2023, the Labour Minister, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, presided over an address on the National Children’s Day 2023 celebration in Chonburi Province. Chonburi Provincial Governor, Mr. Thawatchai Srithong, President of Chonburi Provincial Administrative Organization, Mr. Witthaya Khunpluem, Chonburi provincial government officers, the Ministry of Labour’s executives, heads of government agencies under the Ministry of Labour in Chonburi Province, and thousands of children who attended the event, joined the welcome at the courtyard in front of the Chonburi Provincial City Hall.
Mr. Suchart said that it is well known that the second Saturday of January every year is designated as National Children’s Day by the government. This year, Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha gave the National Children’s Day 2023 the motto “Understanding responsibility, achieving discipline, and aspiring to good deeds” for all sectors of society to participate in child and youth development. Today’s children will grow up to be valuable human resources for the development of the country. Therefore, they must be developed to their fullest potential to become good future citizens. If they are taught only good things, they will grow up to be good and quality members of society. The important thing for everyone is knowledge of responsibilities. Children are responsible for studying hard and being good children to their parents. When people know their duties, it will strengthen their discipline and become good children in society. Children are like plants; if they are well taken care of, they flourish. On the other hand, if they are not taken care of, people will not keep watering the soil, and the tree will not flourish or may eventually die. So, adults must cultivate and give only good things to children. At the same time, children must learn their responsibilities and practice them. Each person must have their duty. If everyone can perform their duties perfectly, our society will be peaceful.
Mr. Suchart continued that the National Children’s Day celebration in Chonburi this year received cooperation from many agencies, including government and private sectors, companies, shops, and benefactors who supported the event to achieve its objectives. The Labour Minister wished all children to see the importance of education, to behave and practice discipline, to be diligent, honest, and grateful to parents and teachers, to have a public mind, and respect religion and the monarchy, to adopt the philosophy of sufficiency economy as a way of life, and keep learning to adapt and keep up with the changes of today’s world.
